I've been sceptical from the start. Got slated for it in the early days too.
He can finish, but the rest of his game is not up to scratch. Also far to lightweight.
He can't do any the following to the required standard:
Link up play
Hold the ball up
Create chances for others
Create chances for himself
Score goals with his head
He is a poacher, but he's not in the right place at the right time often enough to score goals.Oh I don't know.

In my opinion, he's actually better at that than at finishing. His lack of confidence and concentration seem his biggest problem to me. I don't know, it just doesn't feel right writing off a young lad like that, especially when he hasn't always been ****.Originally posted by dom9 View PostI've been sceptical from the start. He got a run in the team earlier in the season as part of a front two with Torres under Hodgson. He wasn't great then, but then the team wasn't playing well so maybe it's unfair to judge him on that.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostHe can't play as a lone striker IMO
I think he could be decent in a front twoA humble guy with healthy desire.

In fairness though so was Torres. I think it's a bit harsh to judge him based on Hodgson's time here and he hasn't had much game time under Kenny. I think he could do well in a front two with Carroll.Originally posted by The Erectile Banana View PostHe got a run in the team earlier in the season as part of a front two with Torres under Hodgson.
