As long as he gets the basics in defence right then it'll be a good first start for him. First start at CB and first start in the league. Big game for him.

I'm hoping to see enough from him that makes me think again about us needing to spend cash on a CB.

Regardless of how he plays today we'll need to buy a CB this summer.

With Wilson attacking more I mean that he must be the one delivering the ball from the back and play like the attacking central defender like Agger do.

He is our best central defender(passing etc) with Agger out.

Shame, really thought he had potential but thats now 2.1 managers that haven't seemed to rate him - Rafa, Kenny and some dullard that was here for a while.

I like the look of that team, will do well I reckon, it has worked well for us so far that system. Looking forward to seeing Suarez/Kuyt partnership up front with Gerrard/Meireles in midfield, should be interesting going forward.

I think you may be expecting little too much from him being his first game as a CB.

As long as he defends well and doesn't make a costly error I'd be happy.

I can't see Wilson attacking, he looks a good defender, but when he has played FB he has shown little on the ball and in the form of attacking intent.

I thought he is talented enough to progress into the first team gradually but the lack of playing opportunities seems to show differently.

Subs: Gulacsi, Kyrgiakos, Cole, Poulsen, Spearing, Maxi, Ngog.

That's not that bad a bench IMO.

Soto has done well in a back 3 and could step in at the back. Poulsen and Spearing have put in decent performances in the central midfield positions. Maxi and Cole can create chances. Ngog is lively enough up top.

It's not a title winning bench. But it is stronger than what Chelseas bench has been at times this season.

Hopefully we can spend a bit in the summer and improve on that though. Even if we buy just three good players, that would still be a big jump in class if they are genuine top class.

I really think GJ has looked good at LB, less attacking intent that he has shown on the right, but still been a good option there. He is at least very comfortable on both feet.

Probably because Gulacsi is the better keeper. Been excellent for our reserves and youth team.
