Fairclough has Skrtel in his line up but isn't he suspended???

Did he not pick up his 5th booking of the season at West Ham?

Yeah, sadly Merson is indicative of the vapid, one dimensional and idiotic standard of football punditry we have in this country.

Spot on mate. It's not that far away at all. Obviously the depth after the starting X1 needs strengthening but it's not all doom and gloom is it !

Not far from a top four side that is, we are not that far from it as it is today after this nightmare of a season and the worst start since 1695 under Roy. If the had been on auto pilot, i.e. no manager, we'd probably have been in better position with more confidence and no Poulsen/Konk.
            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

it's not far away at all and without the huge investment seen at Spurs and of course Citeh it would be a top 4 side.

As long as we buy well in the Summer we can be right back into the mix next season, of course bad purchases and losing perhaps Reina or an Agger without replacing properly would move us backwards

Not sure if I mentioned this earlier but my nephew has just flown over from Oz & is going to his first ever match at anfield tomorrow. Not a bad match to break your duck hey. Half way line VIP seats I think. Jammy bugger. I hope it's a memorable match for him for the right reasons.

2nd half of the season now. 5 bookings gets a written warning from the FA, 10 bookings gets a ban.

Luis: I'd love to score v Man Utd

Luis Suarez is desperate to emulate close friend Diego Forlan by scoring the winner in a Liverpool versus Manchester United showdown.

Forlan's spell in England was largely disappointing for Manchester United fans but two goals in a 2-1 win at Anfield in December 2002 means they will always think of him with affection.

Suarez has spoken to his compatriot about that game and is eager to have a similar impact when the north-west enemies take to the pitch on Sunday.

"Diego told me that it is the most important game of the year for them as it is for us," said Suarez. "I know that of all the games in the season this is the one that both most want to win.

"To score in a game like this and help the team to win is something that as a player you always dream of. But my main objective is that the team keeps on getting points.

"That the United fans still sing for Diego shows the power of the fixture. It shows it is a very important game.

"I have played a lot of big derbies in Holland, Uruguay and for the national team against Argentina and Brazil, so I am calm. I am used to playing derbies.

"And these are the class of games you most want to play in - a derby between two really big teams both going for European places. That is why I came here."

Kenny Dalglish has remained tight-lipped during the build-up on whether Suarez's potential strike partner Andy Carroll could make his debut on Sunday.

The 22-year-old has not kicked a ball competitively since his club record transfer from Newcastle on deadline day due to a thigh injury - though he has done enough in training to impress his fellow new boy.

"My impression from the couple of times we have trained together is that he has a lot of quality," said 24-year-old Suarez.

"He is very tall, he is very good in the air and he has great feet. If I was a defender, I wouldn't know what to do if I had to deal with him.

"Andy has not played a competitive game for two months but it is down to us as a group to help ease him back in after all that time away."

Thanks guys, I can't wait to here from him.

My first visit was the stadium tour cause it was off season. The 1st match was a 1-1 draw in the CL. I've been over twice since and both have been wins. Plus the Goodison Derby which we won also.

If it means Raul playing a little further forward, it might not be a bad thing tbh.
