Will the FA do anything about it? Carragher was booked at the time so would it not be a case of double standards if the FA act on Carragher after the Rooney incident? As bad a tackle as it was by Carragher I don't think it was intentional or pre-meditated, and the same can't be said for Rooney against Wigan.

Ferguson will inevitably kick up a fuss probably saying that people have it in for them and their players don't get protection etc in an attempt to force Referees into giving decisions their way in the coming games. Had he have been beaten just once, you'd have been all over it shouting from the rooftops how much of a liability he is. Instead, he makes a few good challenges, doesn't let anyone past him the whole game (for someone who gets skinned EVERY game, that's not bad) and that's just brushed under the carpet and forgotten about.

This is why I think he'll make a big deal of Carragher's challenge, I see him coming out all guns blazing. As it will take the focus and pressure away from the United players in light of their recent results and performances, despite these results no one in the press has been saying how poor they've been, all the focus has been on other things
