well well well, the not so old Liverpool returns, horror tackles, 2 offside goals given by the 'ref' at home surprise surprise, fans booing Man Utd player after he's been poleaxed and had Gerrard telling him to "get up!!" and they wonder why they're unpopular

Him: its all true, and to hammer the decisions home you have your players in the ref's face when things don't go their way

Me: Rich - whatever you think about LFC there is no way that any of the goals were offside. No way at all, they weren't even borderline.

Him: my opinion from watching the highlights, like you're entitled to yours from a LFC point of view

Me: There are opinions and then there are the laws governing the game. Every goal was on side, they weren't even close! Amazing you can suggest otherwise!

Can't take anything away from his achievements - and he proves how good he is by getting ****e players peforming well above their level - but i can't wait for this cunt to leave the game - football will be a much better place once he finally ****s off.
abso****inglutely. He brings the whole sport down and he shouldn't, he's a knight ffs (somehow) and is supposed to set the example but instead twists things, lies on camera, says who can and can't interview him, encourages he team to behave in the manner in which they do etc etc etc.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

So do I and consistently to boot. I especially liked the handling of the second one where he just stood there watching with his arms folded looking like he was thinking to himself, 'Go on, get it out of your system, if one of you goes OTT you will be seeing red', and then when it died down went to the parties he thought were involved and gave them the punishment he thought fit. Well played Phil Dowd.Originally posted by PTP View Posti think the referee handled both incidents well - He could have steamed in in a flash, lost his head, and started booking and sending off everyone in both incidents - he didn't he took his time, he let it die down, and he didn't get influenced by either set of players.
Yes he maybe should have sent carragher off, and yes he could have also sent rafael off, but he didn't - he let both off with yellows, and as you point out - after that the game went on with no incident - for arguements sake - had he sent off carragher and Nani stayed on, then for all we know, skrtel might have gone through him and broke his leg, or the ref may have felt it was harsh on Carragher, and then awarded liverpool a soft penalty etc
I think the ref, in the circumstances, did as good as he could of done - and thats not a bias because we battered them anyway and were two nil up when the incidents happened
Yes, both incidents could of been red cards, of course they could but they weren't. In his eyes he saw them as yellows and that's what each player got and the game went on and finished with 11 players on each side and a well, very well deserved victory for us. Simple as.

Unfortunately will never happen as they don't have the balls!Originally posted by PTP View Post

As i mentioned in the ferguson thread - how funny would it be if the media pitched together, and then had a universal man utd ban for the rest of the season - no-one turning up for Man Utd press conferences, no interviewers queing up outside the changing room after matches etc
When ferguson/utd want to speak....the media just blank them
