And from not understanding the laws of the game at all. I would imagine he's referring to Kuyt being in an 'offside' position for the first and second goals, not knowing that a) you can't be offside if you're behind the ball when it's played to you, and b) you can't be offside from an opposition pass.

    Dozy bluenose ****.

Carra and Rafael are clear red cards, don't know what all the fuss is about on Maxi's challenge as he pulled out of it rather than a full on waist high assult like Scholes on Lucas.

Best thing about our win was the fluidity of movement from the front 4 (Kuyt, Suarez, Merieles and Maxi) the discipline and maturity shown by Gerrard for holding his position.

Interestingly although Carroll clearly provides a different option there is no way we will play the same type of flowing attacking foorball with him playing as his first thought is to pull away for the diagonal whereas Kuyt and Suarez come short into pockets of space then spin behind.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

He'll create a lot of chances for Meireles and Gerrard though with knockdowns - he effortlessly laid a great header off to Kuyt for a volley on the edge of the box yesterday. Good to have variety, as long as we don't resort to pumping it long to him as an easy option. I was pleased to see we didn't do that once when he came on yesterday.

You think Carragher went to deliberately hurt him?

                  Cant see it myself

Think it was clumsy and reckless myself not intentionally

I think he meant that Carra intended to hit him, not necessarily injure him.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Fletcher had apparently been ill all week

They didnt think he was well enough to play the full 90 minutes

I must say I was shocked by his exclusion as the lad normally does well against us but when I heard the explanation for his absence can understand why he was on the bench

Gerrard did really well holding yesterday (and I've been really critical about that part of his game)

Whether it was actually by design / discipline or his injury prevented him from bombing on more I dont know

But I'll give him the benefit of doubt and commend him

He did try two 'Hollywood' type passes early second half though, both ended straight at a United player's feet.

He did really well yesterday, he was very good first half. It's good to note how good Lucas was as well, because of Stevie's discipline throughout. They complemented each other very well too, with Lucas marauding forward once or twice in the first half. Long term, that's the place he will play as he enters the latter stages of his career.
