OK, let's not go into all that again.

I had to give up football and tennis too.

The great thing about cycling over jogging is it's no impact (unless you fall off but that's different). Of course swimming is no impact too and is supposed to be even better for general fitness but it's so boring IMO.

I don't do bike racing but I also think it's easier to find a competitive element in cycling which keeps some of the old competitive spirit satisfied - you can compete against yourself, against the course, against previous times, etc. But I suppose if you're into some other purely athletic activity then you can find the same motivations there probably.
    Deal

Most of those motivations you talk about above apply to me when running really (plus it is nice to actually get out and about when the weather is nice).

I don't think I could afford a decent bike anyway right now, but in theory I would like to give it a try

Shame about Aurelio, I always kid myself into thinking this time he will stay fit, on the bright side at least I can still use him in FIFA 12
I remember the doctor telling me to have 3 months of no sport. Pretty tough when you are 12. He said to me if it wasn't managed properly I could end up in a wheelchair by 30. I'm 34 now, still no wheelchair
Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful

        No great surprise here
Fabio Aurelio likely to return to South America after his Liverpool FC contract ends this summer

FABIO AURELIO is set to leave Liverpool FC this summer.

The 32-year-old left-back is out of contract at the end of the season and there have been no talks about a new deal.

The popular Brazilian, who has been dogged by injuries throughout his Reds career, is expected to return to South America to finish his playing days.

Aurelio has made just two first team appearances so far this season. He started last month’s FA Cup tie against Oldham and then made a brief substitute appearance in the recent league win at Wolves.

Jose Enrique has established himself as Kenny Dalglish’s first choice left-back since arriving from Newcastle last August.

With Glen Johnson equally at home on either flank and highly-rated young full-backs Jack Robinson and Jon Flanagan also able to play on the left, Aurelio has slipped down the pecking order.

Aurelio’s quality has never been in doubt but he has been beset by a succession of injury problems since arriving at Anfield on a free transfer from Valencia in 2006.

The first Brazilian to ever sign for the Reds, he missed the 2007 Champions League final against AC Milan after rupturing his Achilles in the quarter-final against PSV.

His best season for Liverpool came in 2008/09 when he clocked up 33 appearances and netted memorable free-kicks against Portsmouth, Manchester United and Chelsea. However, Aurelio sat out the start of the following season after injurying his knee following a freak accident while playing with his son in the garden.

After a disappointing campaign and with his contract running out in the summer of 2010 he rejected Rafa Benitez’s offer of a pay-as-you-play deal. He briefly left the club but just months later was back when new boss Roy Hodgson offered him a two-year contract.

Last season he started just 13 games and this term he hadn’t kicked a ball competitively until Oldham came to Anfield last month. But Aurelio is determined to add to his 133 appearances for Liverpool between now and the end of the season, hoping to be involved against Brighton in the FA Cup on Sunday.

“I am feeling good,” he said. “I am enjoying the training sessions every day and improving. I am available and waiting for an opportunity to get on the pitch again.

“It’s up to the manager to decide who is involved in each match, but my aim is to be available as much as possible and see what his thoughts are.

I really, really like him and when fit and at his best there wasn't a better left back in the league IMO, with the exception of Ashley Cole at his peak. A classy player and seemingly a classy bloke.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

We should never have resigned him, a waste of money and I never understood why we did it (well it was because we were skint).

Clearly a talented lb, but ruined by injuries and I think it's for the best if we let him go.

                Class player.

Could've been one of Rafa's best signings if it wasn't for his injury issues. He was ****ing immense in 08/09. If only he could be relied upon for 30 games per season...

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Great player when fit but the problem was that he was very rarely available.

We shoud wish him the best in the future but move on.

                          He was bloody brilliant.

Shame injuries curtailed him and his time here. But what a player when fit. He'd fit in really well in this team.

Has he played for Gremio yet?

Hasn't played one game for them yet.

Ruptured his knee ligament before he could start, has been training again since March but as far as I can see no appearances yet.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
