So essentially they are a streaky team.

He was far from the finished article when he was with us but there was something about him and I think he is/was worth persevering with. He would also represent a low cost option which is likely to be important if we are going to be looking to rebuild the squad elsewhere.

I just wish the club or Insua himself would clear the situation up to avoid all this speculation. I get the feeling the club have no intention on bring him back, yet he’s inevitably talked about as an option in every LB discussion. I’m hoping you might be on to something in the Lucas thread and we’re just waiting on a CEO, but it would be a shame not to give him another crack at the whip. If Kenny could get his confidence back and allow him to get forward and take on players again, we could maybe get to see glimpses of the Insua that looked so good for the reserves.

Interesting you brought that up as I was asking myself the same question. Watched them more than few times this year and I am still unsure why Gabby is the preferred choice.

he gotta go - not reliable, never has been - his injury record before he signed for us was just as bad - iirc i doon't think he has ever played more than about 25 games a season in his career.

Sign a top left back for first choice, sell konk and aurelio)prob just release them ) and for now i'd be happy with insua as cover for the new guy - if we sort all our other areas out, then maybe look at a 2nd left back and sell insua.

And there's probably little point in buying out his contract unless we need to free up an overseas spot in our Prem League squad for next year.

I thought it was the other way about

He was offered a two year contract originally but rejected it... But didn't manage to find a new Club, then Liverpool offered him a Pay as you deal and he accepted.
