Might not be the worst thing in the world. Not an awful lot left to play for this year really.

He'll have the summer off too so should come back a lot fresher next year. Might prolong his career a bit.

I agree . Got to remember too he aint a kid anymore and wont bounce back from injuries as quick as he used to . Give him time to mend and a fresh Stevie for the start of next season sounds like a plan .

I remember when Gerrard won the FA Youth Cup he was smaller than Michael Owen! Then all of a sudden he has that massive growth spurt (causing all those back problems) and we had a monster on our hands. He became a real athlete and never looked back.

Why doesn't Gerrard shoot from long distance anymore?

He barely ever seems to these days. It's strange. I've always wondered if he is in some way protecting an injury.

That slaloming goal against Wedensday was great . Davie Thomson also scored on his debut that night IIRC.

I remember me and my mate arguing who had the most potential. I argued Gerrard (phew) and my mate thought Thomson was the better prospect

Wasn't David Thompson a few years older that Gerrard? I thought he had played quite a few games before that. (Although my mind could be playing tricks)

He certainly scored in that game though.
