Maybe he's just been in bad form? Half-hearted performances etc.

So if say Lucas or someone has a bad spell on the pitch, then needs a groin operation, he'll have been playing with this injury for quite some time, will he?

        Corrected for you.

No you didn't. Merely suggesting having those 3 in the same midfield is negative and unproductive

          You corrected nothing Nige.

Poulsen is a terrible player, one of the worst I've seen in a red shirt. Spearing is poor, albeit slightly better than Poulsen. Lucas has done well in a creative sense lately, see the Man. Utd game as he was one of our better players/passers. I don't know why you lump him with the aformentioned two each time, it's tiring.

Ah Knee Jerk Nige. Instead of actually reading the post you decide to leap to the defense of Lucas when there is no criticism, deep breaths Nige it's all good.

I was in no way, shape of form criticizing Lucas, merely stating that having him alongisde Poulsen and Spearing is not the most productive midfield now is it?

Lucas has done a very good job for us this season defending in front of the backline and tidying up and credit to him, but common now lets not over state his role at LFC, by saying he is in any way creative. He does the simple things well and fair play to him for that but is in no way shape or form creative in an attacking or productive sense

He can do more. He's no 'hollywood style' passer of the ball, but he sets the tempo of our passing with his one / two touch passing. It's a very difficult 'art' to master, you're always at the fulcrum of things. He's got the mobility to go up and down the pitch as well and he's very intelligent with his forward movements. I'd say that his play has been slightly restricted by the lack of holding player in our team since Javier's left and Lucas has started to really blossom during the last year or so. I think he's a creative player in his own right.

He keeps getting the same injury. That suggests he's been carrying for a while and it flares up from time to time. I'm not saying it definitely explains his poor form for the last couple of seasons, but it may be a big factor.

I don't want to turn this into a Lucas thread but thats your opinion and thats fair enough.

I have had nothing but praise for Lucas this season as i said credit where credit is due, but do i think he is in any way creative? Not a chance! He does the simple things well, breaks up play and does short/sharp passes. He is still quite slow IMO and doesn't have the mobility like say Masch had, but Lucas seems to close off space well to be fair to him. His forward movements are very rare, the odd time he might roam forward but Lucas has made his name at Liverpool (so to speak) by grafting and putting in a shift in front of the backline, its a necessary and vital job and it's clearly the best and most predominant part of his game, other wise 3 managers in Rafa,Hodgson and Dalglish must not know what their doing and ust have missed this creative spark your talking about.

All i can think of is that you and i must have a very different idea to me of what a creative player is? But no probs each to their own opinion

Get him sorted for a fresh start next season when we have a real good crack at the league again.

not only is it bad for the obvious reasons, but even if everyone in that lineup were 100% ready, it's still far too powder puff.

                              epic fail

Doing that would probably put Suso's development back a year

Wouldn't surprise me if we didn't see Gerrard again this season.

Lampard had a groin op and was orignally ruled out for 4 weeks, it was nearly 2 months before he returned(roughly).
