To be fair - he has run around a lot - well as much as he can manage. Its just they've been headless chicken / pointless runs and he's spent the next 10 minutes with his hands on his hips like me playing 5 a side with a hangover.

Really looks to have stamina and general fitness issues. Injury earlier in the season and last year doesn't account for it either IMO.
Looks overweight, runs like he's overweight, and is a bigger huffer and puffer than Carra.................I'd be astonished if our fitness coaches haven't brought this to the management's attention.
Fitness levels amongst pro footballers has only been recently highlighted as well (not the same as Joe's situation, but any excuse for a good quote -

I would love Cole to have a full pre-season, be fully fit come August. In my mind he is more useful to the squad than the likes of Maxi and Jovanovic.

But it looks like his injuries and lack of pace are his undoing, so I can see him being sold to somewhere like West Ham/QPR.

I feel a little sorry for him in that he's been coming back from a long term injury and may not have fully recovered his fitness, but based on what we've seen this season he is a long way short of being good enough. I do think he will be better next season where ever he is playing his football, but I do question whether he would ever be at the level we need. In the summer we will undoubtedly be in for a replacement for him so I can't see a future for him with us.

he can't been viewed as anything but a flop for us, not been given much of a chance under Kenny but then you have to assume he's not done it in training.

I think he's probably seen as quite a large flop as he was supposed to be one of our "marque" signings from last summer alongside Raul and he's massively under-performed for us since pulling a red shirt on.

I'd be shocked if he's not moved on in the summer - anything over £3M and I think we'll take it.

Where did i say that? But he isnt a '****ing disgrace' and he isnt motivated by money - he was offered more by other clubs, but chose us.

He wants to fight for his place and he wants to work hard to get in the team, he isnt shirking anything and he never complains or whinges about not being selected.

And if you think you can just 'buy' confidence because you're on a good wage, then you're miles off the mark. Money or not, they are all still human beings with emotions, insecurities and dips in confidence. No amount of nonsense posted on here will change that.

By all means say he hasnt been good enough, but he isnt a 'disgrace' and your attack on him shows you know nothing about him whatsoever.

One thing I am convinced of, Joe did not want to just pick up easy money here for sitting on the bench twiddling his thumbs. He chose Liverpool because he wanted to play regular football for a top team, and no doubt The Bodge assured him he would be an integral part of the team this season (he did start our first game remember).

Unfortunately it just has not worked out for him here - he just has not fitted in and when he has played he has not even looked half the player he once was.

Time for a mutual parting of the ways. Nice and clean the way it should be, and with no hard feelings.
