Like I have said, I would rather have Bentley than Cole on this LFC team, and I know that Bentley was nowhere to be seen in the past 3 seasons ...
I remember being out in liverpool years ago before blackburn played and bentley was out on the lash the night before, the next day he had a stinker, if thats the type of guy he is, i dont want him
I agree he didnt show anything but to be fair he was playing under Hodgson and hadnt had a proper full season for a long long time. His lack of fitness was to do with him getting **** all game time at chelsea
And sixty a day.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
JOE COLE admits he has unfinished business at Anfield – and hopes that a new Liverpool manager will give him the chance to correct the only blemish on his football CV.
The widely decorated midfielder was a huge success at West Ham, Chelsea and on loan at Lille last season. But during a single season at Liverpool he struggled to recreate that form.
He said: “It’s just that season at Liverpool – I would love to have a chance to put it right.”
Sent off on his Premier League debut for Liverpool, then missing a penalty four days later against Trabzonspor, Cole struggled to get any form or rhythm during his Anfield career. But he played himself back into form at the French club during the 2011-12 campaign, making 20 league starts as Lille finished third in the table.
Another player keen to make an impression on a new Liverpool boss is injured midfielder Charlie Adam. The Scot injured knee ligaments during the Reds’ 3-2 loss at QPR in March and missed the remainder of the campaign.
Adam said: “I was back working at Liverpool last week. I’ll be all geared up and trying to impress the new manager. Whoever comes in will be a top manager – it's one of the best jobs in English football. We're one of the best clubs in the world and I feel extremely fortunate to be at Liverpool.”
Joe Cole will return to Liverpool this summer after his season-long loan at Lille, according to the Ligue 1 club’s manager.
The 30-year-old midfielder made 38 appearances for the French club last season, scoring four goals since joining the club on a year-long deal on transfer deadline day last August.
“Joe Cole will stay at Liverpool,” Lille boss Rudi Garcia told Canal+. “The new staff has decided to keep him.
“We will keep very good memories of the player but also of the man.”
Cole sealed a move to Anfield when he was signed by former Reds boss Roy Hodgson on a free transfer on a four-year deal in July 2010.
But the midfielder managed just three goals and two assists in a largely disappointing campaign for the former Chelsea man, before he was loaned out to Lille by new manager Kenny Dalglish after the Scot took charge mid-way through the 2010-11 season.
I'm sure we can find him some games. Must have been costing us 60k a week + while he was there which seems madness. And there's still a good player in there somewhere.

There's no doubt cole was pretty ****e for us. He just looked plain done. Even the things he was renowned for seemed to have deserted him.
But you never know. Brendy's system might suit the type of player he used to be. Maybe with a bit of fitness and confidence back he could be useful again because at his best he was a clever passing player who was comfortable on the ball, got a few tricks and didn't see the ball as a bomb that needed getting rid of.
I also think we should be getting all our on loan players back for a look at how they might adapt to the new managers system. The likes of Aqua, if AC are going to try and do us over again we should get him back and see what he can do. Frig all that homesick nonsense.
