I'd like to see Kelly get some run outs as a CB when he's comes back from injury - I think he could be an ideal replacement for Carra.

I agree, after all, isn't CB supposed to be Kelly's natural position? By the way he adapted to right back when it's not even his favoured position it has to be only a matter of time before he's given that chance to come in for Carragher. I would like to see Danny Wilson involved more too. There could maybe be a future partnership there between the two...here's hoping.

        He is very replaceable.

He's ok as a back up but I always feel he's about to make a mistake. Shouldn't be first choice

I'd keep him as a squad player too but our problem is that our first choice CB Agger is constantly injured so he plays much more than I like to see him play.

Another thread slagging off a scapegoat.

We need to be playing more games to distract you lot from your thoughts.
              Oh I don't know.

Think I read somewhere that Skittles has played every minute of our Prem games this season

That's a fair criticism but I do think there is a problem with our collection of centre halves. None of the them complement one another and none of them stand out as the one we should seek to buy a complementary partner for (Agger might do if he was not so injury prone I suppose).

I'd suggest that Skrtel has been at least as good, if not better, than any centre half playing for United this season (apart from when Vidic and Ferdinand have had a few games together).

He is however not decisive enough for me and other than Carragher we lack defenders who organise well enough to compensate for that. I also think Skrtal and Carra are too similar in style for the partnership to be a top class one.

I don't see Skrtel being slagged off and made a scapegoat to anywhere near the extent other players have in the past (Lucas, Insua etc). However I think we have a right to look at his performance and development. He is now 26 and should be close to his peak. He's been with us 3 years and I don't see that his game has progressed, he's still suffering from a lack of concentration and is prone to making mistakes.

The centre back position obviously need looking at in the summer; Kyriakos and Carragher don't have long left, Agger is injury prone, Wilson isn't ready to make the step up. We need to look at things and make a decision on the future. Are we planning to look for a long term replacement (for Kyriakos / Carragher) to compliment Agger or Skrtel or can the two form an effective partnership and we are looking for a backup?

Not in the slightest, nobody is slagging him off or using him as a scapegoat, he is a professional footballer that has been sub standard for LFC for quite some time now, there credit where credit is due and there's also criticism where criticism is due, its not a witch hunt mate just pointing out some obvious facts and flaws in his game, nothing more

I hear ya dude, wouldn't worry about it just the internet, some people love jumping on a witch hunt bandwagon against certain posters. I used to respond to everything that was my problem, and even though i wasn't starting anything, it looked like most of my posts was me bickering with certain people (well in truth 1 poster), when all it was was me on the defensive.

So i just put a few on ignore and bingo!! the site is a now pleasure to post on, with some great posters, mods and good banter.

You can't please them all can you, suppose it's about time i put a few on ignore myself.

I usually get called a little boy, an idiot, stupid or a fool when i give an opinion certain posters don't agree with. Classy individuals indeed.

Your best off using the ignore in that case, thats what its there for. Think there's alot of young lads on the site, only reason i can fathom why anyone would abuse a fellow red over the net, its all about opinions, people should respect each others even if they have contrasting views on things. And sure its just football at the end of the day.
