Thats cool and very diplomatic of you but this is a Martin Skrtel thread no? And during a season certain players that aren't good enough have to be singled out, and then removed from the equation. Just another car wreck performance from Martin Skrtel to add to the dozens and dozens of others.

To be fair man, what did Skrtel do wrong tonight?

I would point the finger at other players before Skrtel(on tonight's performance).

I wouldn't be too upset if we sold all of our four senior centre backs this summer for various reasons.

Obviously not going to happen but I don't think any of them are the long term solution.

Would get rid in this order - Skrtel, Soto, Carra, Agger

          Agreed.

I don't blame him for the chance at the end. He was the wrong man in the right place.

          Otherwise a clean sheet.
          Oh I don't know.

It was actually an impressive enough attempt at a scissors-kick. Not really the right option to pick in the circumstances, but still.

He was a few yards offside aswell.

Skrtel is a CB who can't head the ball. That's as bad as having a striker who can't shoot.

I actually thought he was very good first half and did nothing much wrong in the second. The partnership with Carragher wasn't very progressive though.

Skrtel is simply not good enough for a team that will consistently challenge for the top 4 and have a decent attempt at actually winning the league. If we want to be in the 'second tier' of challengers, i.e. the teams from 5th to 10th, then he is okay I suppose.

If only Agger was not so injury prone.

IMO He's just awful in general mate, last night i thought he was needless fouling, wasting possession and for some unknown reason can't win any headers in the air :O , he spent more time kicking the ball to Carra and Reina than anywhere else, it's not progressive and all it does is waste time or end up with the inevitable hoof or hospital ball from Skrtel or Carra. I know your a fan of his but this guy is a liability IMO, i genuinely think he is mediocre.

Any CB partnership that involves Carra/Soto/Skrtel is the pits IMO. Agger is vital in there.

Fair enough pal, just regarding last night's match i don't think he did much wrong.

I agree with ya regarding Agger though, he's vital, but at the same time we don't see enough of him hence we can't rely on the fella.

We're possibly looking at two new centre backs in the summer. By ****, there'll have to be some rebuilding done.

Was probably our best player last night.
Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

I thought Carroll was our best player last night but him and Carra defensively were very solid.
