Gonna sound like a broken record here but How can you put Agger as our no1 bearing in mind his injury record?

It's as if people don't want to recognise or take on board his injury record.

But, but, but his injury record over the last 4 or 5 years suggest that it's highly unlikely he'll be fit for a longish period of time.

On that basis, you can't have Agger as our no1 centre back. Imo.

It's basically a bonus if he's fit. Similar to King at Spurs.

i have to say i think agger is one of the best CBs in the country

the problem is fitness. Many who are not as good as him will be more valuable because they can do a job and will play in a settled defence.

I think Agger has the potential to be world class but it's very frustrating the way he can't stay fit, Aurelio is the same. They both have bags of ability but are highly unreliable.

I think Agger is great beside a no nonsense type CB, IMO his weaknesses would be pace and he sometimes doesnt look very mobile, but probably down to him struggling for fitness constantly. I'd love for Agger to gain some semblance of a consistent run in the side, as he looks better and better much like Aurelio, the more games they play.

Personally i can see both players retiring early. As for CB's better than Agger there are a few IMO but not many when he's at his best:

Terry
Lucio
Caravalho
Kompany
Pique

If Agger could stay fit, and that is a massive and highly unlikely "if", i think he could be better than likes of Kompany(looks outstanding) & Pique & as good as the rest.

P.S. Does anyone honestly think Agger will be fit more often than not next season? I don't.
