Babel retweeted a picture, hardly comparable to slagging a ref off personally!
Babel was also punushed for his behaviour. Don't really get his point here

One player tweeted one comment............ hardly a rising of the masses is it?
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

The journo was saying Kenny doesnt see it as a sign of disrespect but he doesnt see the Fergie as someoone who is superior to him in fact Kenny thinks he is "Fergies" equal if not superior

Sure even in his recent book only Fergie is mentioned.

On RTE's round-up of last week's game, either Ray Houghton or Dunphy (can't remember which), came out with something along the lines that they suspect Ferguson has issues with Kenny stemming back to their respective playing days.
Whereas as both have enjoyed enormous success in the managerial field, Ferguson is completely overshadowed in their respective playing careers, Kenny is seen as the greatest Scottish player ever etc etc, and their is probably some animosity going back to when Ferguson was handling the national team.

Didn't Kenny pull out of a world cup squad late on due to injury or something? And Fergie was royally annoyed about it?

It must be as he played in both '78 and '82.

                    Sounds familiar alright

And if there's one thing we know about Ferguson's character, its that he knows how to hold a grudge.

Ferguson dropped Hansen from the Scotland World Cup 86 squad. Alright they had a reasonable (at best) excuse to leave him out of the starting XI but not having him in the squad was laughable.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

The irony of Fergie being hacked off because of player pulling out of international games
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Whisky-nose can shut the **** up, because Kenny never mentioned his name, if he feels paranoid - then thats his own problem.

                            Kenny's exact words were:

The Liverpool manager said: "There has been a theme about referees for most of this week. When I came back in we were made aware of the Respect campaign that is there to help referees and which, obviously, we have adhered to. We have never come out and criticised the referees after games. It is difficult for them not to make mistakes but if we are going to respect the campaign and we are the ones adhering to it, then I just hope that we are not the ones who are suffering.

"Sometimes you think that the ones who shout loudest are the ones who get the more beneficial decisions and that would be totally unfair. We will respect the campaign as long as we think that we won't be suffering in any way, shape or form. Right at this particular moment in time I cannot say that it is particularly true that we haven't suffered. We will try our best to maintain our dignity and respect for referees but we would also like to think they would show us respect for going along with the guidelines of the campaign."

The 'respect' campaign is an absolute ****ing joke. It was actually only applied in one game.

Really, the whole thing actually lasted 45 minutes at old toilet a few years back, Mascherano got sent off when it was launched for asking why 3 or 4 times, the respect campaign and any respect I had for it ended then.
