I know that some might say there is no chance of Flanagan there, but I hate seeing Carra at fullback.

If 10 experienced pros + 1 talented youngster can't see off mighty Braga then we should all give in and call it a day!

Agree about Carra and although Flanagan looks a decent wee player, he was poor against United youth so would be a big risk.

I thought Flanaghan did alright in the Youth Cup game against United. It was the LB that had a shocker.

That said he's in no way ready for such an important first team game as this

I thought he was quite poor throughout bar the odd decent tackle. I did miss the start of the second half though when he apparently made a good run.

Yeah he made a few decent runs going forward and I cant remember him getting beaten too often at full back. I remember thinking he'd done ok. Still he's a long way off a 1st team chance IMO.

Here's the reasoning.

Carra won't get forward much anyhow and is actually more experienced at left back than Johnson is. So put him there.

This allow GJ to get forward with some fluidity on his natural side.

I'd drop Meireles into midfield to avoid having to play Poulsen or Spearing as I think he'd be a better option in there despite my doubts about him.

I'd then have Cole off Carroll for the simple reason that I think Cole is only useful if in the attacking third and offers nothing otherwise. So if he's playing then he has to play just off the top like that.

I like this too and would like to see it. Can't see it being too far off what we see either, though I think Kenny is more likely to swap the fullbacks around
