    May as well innit!
Doesn't sound like it will sell out then.

Hope there's some sort of atmosphere, I think we might need a bit of inspiration.

Haha I was going to mention the low literary standard, but thought I might get pulled up.

I never realised it was part of the poster's contract on here. I must get mine out and read it.

Not feeling too optimistic about this match. What worries me is that if they score just one goal tomorrow we have to score three to progress. Them scoring isn't too unlikely given our poor defense (at times) and if we give another silly penalty away.

You should have received an updated Members Pack (including Est car sticker - "Est1892: Always just one expletive away from a ban") in the post in the last fortnight.

The only people it hasn't been sent to are about to be banned.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

              Surely you wouldn't?

              I contribute so little FFS.

If we can't go through against a mediocre Braga team then there's something badly wrong.

Carroll wants revenge by giving Braga the elbow

Andy Carroll will turn the other cheek on Braga...by giving them the elbow from the Europa League.

That's the confident assertion of Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish, who has revealed his horror at the shocking elbow in the face his star striker received in the first leg.

Braga's Brazilian defender Kaka could easily have shattered Carroll's cheekbone, such was the force of his forearm smash in the face.

But the Reds record signing didn't respond, and Anfield boss Kenny Dalglish reckons the centre forward will react only by providing the goals to put his side through to the quarter final tonight.

Carroll is in line to make his full Liverpool debut this evening, after two cameo appearances as a substitute, the last in the first leg of this tie last week.

Dalglish missed the assault at the time, but yesterday admitted his disgust at the cowardly challenge after seeing a replay, which he believes should be investigated by UEFA.

"I honestly hadn't seen the incident during the game because Andy had his back to us, but when I saw it on television, you could see it was such a bad challenge," he said.

"If it was one of our players, or a British one, there would have been mayhem. Yet I've not seen much about it since.

"For something as deliberate as that, UEFA must surely have some sort of retrospective retribution. There must be something?"

Carroll made a big - legal - impact on the game when he came on as a second half sub last week, and it was clear Braga were intimidated by the towering forward's presence.

That should prompt Dalglish to unleash him tonight, as Liverpool go in search of the goals required to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg.

The officials at the time missed Kaka's elbow, even though there were five of them on the pitch at the time, under UEFA's goal-line assistants experiment.

And Dalglish quipped of the extra officials: "They aren't referees are they? They're just Santa's little helpers! But to be fair, I've never seen them affect any of the games I've watched.

"But if you don't see it, there should be some form of punishment if it's totally clear."

The Reds boss knows just how appalling such a brutal foul can be, after having his own cheekbone fractured by a flying elbow from Manchester United's Kevin Moran 27 years ago.

But Dalglish believes the best reponse from his £35million striker will be to turn the other cheek, and inspire a victory that takes him a step closer to the final.

"I know how dangerous it can be, and not just because of what happened to me. You have seen it to a lot of other people," he said.

"There is one thing going up to protect yourself, it is another completely going up to hurt an opponent - and that was to hurt Andy.

"To do what he did last week, which was keeping his composure, is great credit to him. Now the best way for Andy to answer anything is to be on the winning side. The best way to vent our anger would be to get a good result."

Liverpool have several injury doubts for the game, but Daniel Agger could return, though Lucas Leiva may be missing because his wife is due to give birth.

                    ***

PROBABLE TEAMS - Liverpool: Reina; Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Wilson; Lucas, Spearing; Kuyt, Meireles, Cole; Carroll.

Braga: Artur; Miguel Garcia, Kaka, Alberto Rodriguez, Silvio; Viana, Leandro Salino; Paolo Cesar, Mossoro, Alan; Lima.

Actually it's probably a good time for Lurkers to up their post count with little likelihood of getting hung out to dry by our (former) resident Rottweiler.

Maybe we should have Lurker wednesday's whereby Lurkers have to post or else they lose access to the site for a few days.

Now there's in the region of 5000 members here there must be loads of people with interesting view points who never bother submitting them.
