would be good to see him get a game.
Also hope we start without both Poulsen and Spearing, neither of them are showing they have what it takes to help us progress.
Would be interesting to see Lucas and Meireles in CM with Cole, Pacheco and Kuyt behind Carroll, that would give us some offensive charachter...

I think personally I'd rather we played Poulsen or Spearing deep with Lucas and allowed Meireles to be higher up the pitch (I'd leave out Cole, but would expect Dalglish to go for him over Pacheco).Originally posted by Darkon View Post

that is another possibility, but tbh. the games we have played with two holding midfielders i.e. Lucas + 1 we have not been great going forward and in this game it's what we need to do. I think we should just have Lucas playing deep with Meireles in the box-to-box role and then having either two strikers in Carroll and N'gog or Kuyt, or we should have three behind Carroll as mentioned earlier.Originally posted by dww View PostI think personally I'd rather we played Poulsen or Spearing deep with Lucas and allowed Meireles to be higher up the pitch (I'd leave out Cole, but would expect Dalglish to go for him over Pacheco).
I'm afraid we will end up in the same situation as in Braga with very little to offer offensively if we play the same basic midfield formation.

I'd release Lucas more, giving the other DM the role of covering and breaking up as a priority and asking Lucas to link play more. I'm not sure we have been consistent enough in any formation to make generalisations - I would worry if we started Spearing and Poulsen alongside Lucas though.Originally posted by Darkon View Postthat is another possibility, but tbh. the games we have played with two holding midfielders i.e. Lucas + 1 we have not been great going forward and in this game it's what we need to do. Thinking about it I don't think Carroll will start. Personally I'd give Ngog a chance but Kenny doesn't seem to be a big fan."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

It's all about renewable energy sources now IMO.
He's nailed on to start tonight, so we might as well get behind him. He's still got some class hidden away in there, he just needs something to go his way. Not totally given up on him just yet.
