I felt a bit sorry for Jay today. Looked horribly out of his depth, should never be asked to start in matches like this - got over run on a number of occasions. An honest hard working player, but not anywhere near the level we need in our squad.

Sorry little fella, but I think your time may be up.

Put him on the transfer list not good enough for LFC

I feel sorry for him as a human being but as a football player he was ****e. Shouldn't gave been anywhere near the pitch today

If Lucas was playing today we would be talking about a totally different match. Not replacing Lucas and trusting Spearing could end up being a fatal decision for Kenny.

Poor Jay but total garbage today and utterly confirms to all that he isn't good enough for us.

Christ, who would sign Jay? I wouldn't be surprised to see him at a middle to play off level Championship team.

He struggled against Fulham midweek and gave the ball away far too much in that game. So to see him in the middle against the Chavs was just mind boggling

I sincerely hope Dalglish knows Spearing is not good enough now and will get rid of him next season.

He was totally, utterly and completely exposed today

But given that I fully expected that he'd be **** today and is nowhere near goid enough - and the majority of the fans hold similar views - what the **** does the manager see in him? His losing the ball in midfield led directy to the first goal and his rash lunge let Lampard skin him and have the freedom of the midfield to pick out Drogba. Could Shelvey have possibly been a worse option?

But I long ago gave up trying to work out what Dalglish sees in Spearing and a few of his dud signings too.

3 years ago if someone had told me Spearing would start in the middle in the FA cup final for liverpool i would have thought it was a joke. Cash in on him in the summer.

Dire. Gives his best, but just not good enough.

the personal abuse he took in the match tread was out of order, but he's well short of the level required, even for a squad player.
