No surprise that he's getting better with games, not that he did that bad when called on before.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

      Very good performance.

I've been pleasantly surprised recently with his performances against Sunderland and tonight against City.

Still not sure that he's good enough, but if he can continue to play to this standard then I'll be happy to say that I was wrong.

Perhaps a bit too soon to make a judgement.

Defensively fantastic even against City's high profile players, I also liked his forward passing very much - he should leave the Hollywood moves to others though although you gotta admire his courage and confidence. In my opinion he's definitely good enough to remain in the wider selections of the squad.

Tonight was further proof that he is good enough. The question is whether he can consistently produce it.

Spearing's best performance in a LFC shirt

As I said before he's had very few games where he's played with the regulars, and he's been quite impressive in a number of them. I think he deserves more games between now and the end of the season to see how he does. I know he has a new contract but it would be good to see him get more games, he seems to have been around for ages but has played very few games.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

                    Played well.

Might be able to get a couple of million for him in the summer.

Keep him, he may be small but hes like a pitbull terrier, his work rate against city was phenomenal, he could be an unlikely star in the making..

Meireles' wife i presume...i know she's into tattoos like our Raul.

Anyway i think giving Spearing a new contract was a wise move. Firstly, it protects his value and will ensure we get a decent fee should he move on in a year or two. Secondly, it's a great incentive to all the lads in the Reserves, U18s and academy to see someone given a chance. Thirdly i think he makes a great squad player and his performances are improving game by game (he's also happy to have a bit part role - for now at least) Fourthly he always gives 100% and is great to throw on to pressure the ball late on in a game and finally we're a bit powder puff in midfield and despite his diminuitive stature our Jay certainly likes to get stuck in

A lot on here have been very unkind to Jay. I was impressed again tonight. He looks a far more progressive player than the lauded Lucas. Lucas has improved his positioning but for me hardly ever makes a forward pass of note.

Seriously I would cash in on Lucas before Jay.
