To me it shows that Spurs have the thoughest run in together with their CL fixtures that are also hard.

Spurs have to many games against teams with little to play for, so I reckon they will stay in top-4.

We are left with quite a hard run in but not being in europe might edge it for us against spurs together with the game at anfield.

I can see at least one of Man City or Spurs having a slump, I think that we're just too far behind to capitalise though.
They will still be playing in Europe next season

I remember when Millwall made the FA Cup final & lost to the Scum but played UEFA Cup the next season even though they weren't even in the Prem - some of the away fans that travelled to Millwall from the Continent must have got the shock of their lives!!!
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

Not many got a shock, they were naturally not very high seeded anyways but they drew Honved of Hungary out the hat and got knocked out straight away.

Didn't help that they lost all their good players like Cahill though!

            Possible?

Next up for Spurs is Chelsea away. We then play Newcastle the next day, possibly knowing that a win would put us aboth Spurs on GD, though they would still have that game in hand. But we would also still have them to come to Anfield.

And they still have to travel to play Man City away.

            ----------

Man City need 9 points from 6 games to come above us. I think that makes 4th out of the question. But if Blackburn can get some kind of result of them Monday it does start to make things interesting.

Looking at things, it's possible City, Spurs and LFC all finish on the same points.

              Liverpool win all remaining games.

Spurs lose to LFC (A) and Chelsea (A), win the rest. 6 points dropped

City lose to Everton (A), Spurs (H), Draw with Blackburn (A), West Ham (H), win the rest. 10 points dropped.

              Nice pipe dream

I hope we don't make Europe.

Europa league means Thursday and Sunday games. I can't believe any players will or won't sign for us based on us being in that competition.

CL is too big a distraction for a team that has serious league winning aspirations considering we haven't won it for 20 years. The money and possible better signings are obvious plus points.

I just want us to concentrate 100% on each and every league game. Europe will **** us up.

One season away and then when we've won the league we go back in as champions.

Tricky one isn't it. I see the merits in what you are saying, but for me its qualification and go with the model we used this year, bringing the young lads through and giving fringe players a run. I don't think we have to worry about were our intentions will be next year, the league all the way.

In Gulasci, Flanagan, Spearing,Robinson, Coady, Ayala, Suso, Pacecho, Ngog and even strtling we have lots of players who wouldnt play to much if we were in the league only, all these could have a great euro run out and not disgrace themselves.

Keep it domestic next season. If it's not Champs league, then Europa is just a distraction imo, it's a very very big massive season for us too, it's where we attempt to put this club back in the league position we should be, and that alone won't be easy.

yeah the europa league would be good to keep giving the fringe players games but hell if we make the CL somehow then I can only see it being a distraction as we'd have to field full strength teams.

Although not ideal, id prefer the Europa to no european football at all next season.

We could play our fringe players in the earlier stages. LFC is all about playing european football, plus it gives me an excuse to have a few midweek beers! It would also give Kenny an opportunity to adjust to managing in europe.

I'm sure our friendly neighbours will be gagging to win that game and help us out, eh?

If City win tomorrow night at Ewood then that's 4th place wrapped up for them i feel.

Still going to be tough for us to finish 5th, looks like we'll have to beat Spurs when they come to Anfield but we have a good record against them at home. It can be done.
