When asked about the state of management Lucas refused to be drawn. There were clearly many words unsaid and the wheels look to be falling off the Daglish bus.

With such a public lack of support one can only wonder the state of things behind closed doors. Will we see a 4th manager in 2 short years?

He didn't need to use the line about him deserving of being appointed (unless directly asked then he was left with little choice, hes a footballer not a PR guru so just didn't manage to squirm out of it).

What we lack is leadership, big time. Would the players been able to behave like they have done in some games if Hyypia for example would have been here?

We need a player that the players respect 100%. A player you know you know will do an excellent job as Captain in good and bad times.

Bad times doesn't mean a single game. It is easy to be a good Captain when your challenging for trophies. Gerrard isn't a good Captain when the result goes against him and we don't challenge for trophies. He is good Captain when we are challenging.

He also doesn't back the manager in the media the way he should do as a Captain. Last season he should have backed Rafa week in week out in the media. He should have stood by him week in week out. Didn't happen. That is the way a bad leader acts. Sulks when it goes against him.

Carra also didn't back Rafa week in week out last season. He was very quiet when the media attacked Rafa. He didn't stood by him.

If you want to act like a good Captain then you back the manager and fight his corner in the media every week, whatever the result.

Reina was our best Captain last season by a mile. Lucas has been that this season.

Did you not see their banner proclaiming that the fans were the only one who were supporting him - implying they felt the players and board had let him down. Essentially injuries and a falling out with Sneijder seem to have done him in at Inter but the fans seemed to see a bigger picture.

But that doesn't mean a great deal. You could hang a banner on the Kop and unless it was offensive you could probably have "And then the lord gave us the konch" and nobody would blink an eyelid. From what I have read and heard the majority of Inter fans were over the moon when he left.

I think as with most of these things there were probably a wide variety of views held by the supporter base. Much as there was when he left us.
