Didn't see the bit about Agger being injured too ffs, It'll be Soto instead of him then IMO, doesn't really fill me with confidence. I know its the trend of most posts but we need a lot of players in summer, at least 5

The disturbing thing is there is only 8 or 9 players on that list I would be bothered about leaving.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostMy suggestions for culling the squad:

with respect, i think you're wrong, danny. we're going to be in for a big summer in the market, and a major rebuilding project will be underway. i am 95% certain.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostI'm always unrealistic about what we can achieve, but I'm always realistic about who we can sign. We need tons of players.
We need a Sami like CB.
We need a Stevie like CM.
We need a Barnes like Winger.
Blah, blah, blah. No offense meant by that, but we really do need a massive splurge to come good next year, something that is not going to happen tbh.dave of mutilation

Hard to disagree mate.Originally posted by Mostar View PostWe need at least 4,5 new starters and definitely few more to improve the squad.
As far as I concerned any of these can be sold, loaned, released etc:
Jones
Konk
Aurelio
Soto
Spearing
Poulsen
J. Cole
Jovanovic
Wilson needs to be sent on a loan somewhere as he is not ready and I'm still on the fence about Agger's future due to his injury record. We may as well sell him too as every knock he gets results in long time away from team. Ngog's future also can be in jeopardy as well as Maxi's.
There is 12 players potentially right there and that doesn't even take into account Darby, El Zhar, Degen, Insua (only one I'd consider to bring back as a second choice LB) who are pretty much already gone.
BTW, Neil Youngs post made me LOL! Actually cheered me up

I hope so mate. But the things people come out with suggest otherwsie to me. I can;'t be bothered to look up direct quotes but similar too:Originally posted by little dave hedgehog View Postwith respect, i think you're wrong, danny. we're going to be in for a big summer in the market, and a major rebuilding project will be underway. i am 95% certain.
Ian Ayre: We'll respect the FFP rules, others I'm not so sure.
To me that says we'll spend what we have.
John Henry: We want people singing of the same page. No quick fixes.
Again, says to me we will not be rushing into things, which in fairness is what we need.Forwards.......

fsg like to underpromise and overdeliver. if we sell players, then we can spend that money plus whatever the ffp rules say. i expect some major movement in both directions. at the same time, it helps to send out the message that we won't be held to ransom over players, neither by clubs nor by their agents when we negotiate contracts.dave of mutilation

Just had a look round the net and it truly unbelievable (and infuriating) how many people are gleefully talking of "Roy's revenge", "sticking two fingers up at the club who never gave him a chance", "proving a point" and all that other ****e.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I hope they deliver mate. But in fairness I'm just happy being in a position where we can actually spend what we have as opposed to having to pay off debts. I guess that shouldn't be forgotten.Originally posted by little dave hedgehog View Postfsg like to underpromise and overdeliver. if we sell players, then we can spend that money plus whatever the ffp rules say. i expect some major movement in both directions. at the same time, it helps to send out the message that we won't be held to ransom over players, neither by clubs nor by their agents when we negotiate contracts.
Are we really suprised he got a win? This year is ****ed up. Be delighted when it's over. Roy DID get some serious stick whilst he was here, but the money he got for that means I don't feel an ounce of pity. Footballers and managers are over paid. Boo Hoo, bit of stress. **** right off.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostJust had a look round the net and it truly unbelievable (and infuriating) how many people are gleefully talking of "Roy's revenge", "sticking two fingers up at the club who never gave him a chance", "proving a point" and all that other ****e.
Stress is struggling to pay a mortgage in Liverpool, or struggling to feed a family in Africa, etc etc. It's certainly not trying to win an away game with a side that should be top 6 with no dramas.Forwards.......

That was my biggest ****ing fear that if we lose he'll be seen as a scape goat/ saint and his sacking as a knee jerk decisionOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostJust had a look round the net and it truly unbelievable (and infuriating) how many people are gleefully talking of "Roy's revenge", "sticking two fingers up at the club who never gave him a chance", "proving a point" and all that other ****e.

Fack that. They can have him and his miserable tactics and his 8-year old PR skills any day of the week.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

next years aim is simple champions league and that it.
we are still 2 seasons away from challenging for the league but suarez and carroll are a good start.
we have no threat apart from suarez. no one else seems capable of getting the ball and running at the opposition.
its an embarrasment when a new player with only 7 games all of a sudden is your most potent weapon.
if money is tight then central midfield and wide areas is the priority. ashley young is a must.
id even sacrifice a left back for young.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]
