given the state of our current squad - i feel we have 10 players on the books who offer us zero! nothing at all

- 6 of these 10 are currently on loan
- 1 is always injured
- 3 are available but nowhere near good enough

the ten players are

insua (loan)
konk (loan)
aurelio (always injured)
aquilani (loan)
degen (loan)
darby (loan)
spearing (not good enough)
jovanovic (not good enough)
poulsen (not good enough)
el zhar (loan)


My question is.....would you accept the following

selling the above 10 players for a combined fee of £25m

and signing

Warnock
Parker
Downing
Young

for a combined total off £50m -


So nett spend £25m - 10 players who give us zero shipped out, and 4 players brought in to add to the current squad

maybe? maybe not? - aren't we due about £10m for Aquilani though? which is how i based the sales - £10m in the bank of him

the likes of konk, poulsen, jovanovic, spearing, i feel would probably move on for around £2m each - they may be ****ing woeful for us, but other teams in england and around the lesser leagues of europe, they'd still probably offer something/do a job

Those 4 he identified wouldn't be my first choices but they still would be a great improvement (bar Warnock) over what we have now.

I would accept selling those for 25million as I dont think we will get that.
I would accept almost giving away everyone of the above bar aquiliani
I would do all the deals apart from I would keep aquiliani and not get parker.

And we would still need a first team LB ( warnock not good enough)
Downing and Young would be great as squad players but would want at least 1 otehr high profile winger, ideally a jonny foreigner signing a la hazard

this is your choice this summer we can only do one or the other....keep the ten players listed, or sell them and sign the four listed....we have no other option - we aren't signing anyone else! - we either stick with the ten, or swap those ten for the those 4


I'd do it - not that i think those four are that good (i do think parker and young would improve us straight away though) and obv i would like to think we are going to sign better....however, we don't have man city money to spend, we aren't in the champions league - and as much as i want us to...we aren't going to sign lahm, coentrao, ribery, mata, hazard, etc etc etc

we have ten players that give us nothing....those 4 would improve us....what i am trying to highlight is....how bad our squad actually is - that just 4 average/mediocre/half decent premiership players would actually improve us

the only problem with our players on loan deals is the buying team gets to see them play which almost rules out any chance of a permanent transfer

well its a no brainer.............all the above are really ****e apart from glassy but classy aurelio and Aquiliani. The 4 you mentioned at least proved they are quality premiership players without setting the world alight.
