Insua - out on loan/out of contract
    Konchesky - ****ing woeful

Warnock - sadly, is a better option on all three

Spearing - out his depth, not good enough, not even as a squad player
    Poulsen - woeful woeful woeful

Parker - miles and miles and miles better than poulsen and spearing - i'd swap those two for parker in a heart beat.

    Jovanovic - terrible terrible player

    Downing - better than Jovanovic

the rest - all on loan so wouldn't be missed

Young - would give us some much needed pace/width

        No

A different list of 10 players maybe - but I would rather we kept Insua and Aquilani as I think they both have much to offer.

It would also need to be a different list of 4. Parker and Young, yes no question. Warnock is too limited IMO, and we could get much better than him, even Baines offers more. Downing I'm not sure about - he's better than anything we've got on the left but thats not saying much - he just seems to have made a career out of the fact he's left footed.

          Disagree. Warnock is pure muck.

          Obviously but he's 31. **** that.

SWP is better than Jovanovic but I wouldn't want him either!

for what it's worth - i'd rather we kept insua - i have mentioned a few times, that i felt it was a massive massive mistake letting go out on loan - ideal world, we'd keep insua as the cover, sell konk/aurelio, and then sign a proper first choice left back for £10m to £20m

But i think insua contract being up and out on loan for the season - it's likely he'll go - aurelio always crocked and pretty sure we'll jib off konk - then i'd go for warnock as back up and then look to sign another first choice left back

Downing I purely used too point out, that we have four left sided players in that list of 10....and not one of them offer the current squad anything.....and downing, whilst ****...would actually be an improvement to the squad

I understand your point but we don't need to sign more squad players. We need to sign high quality players, players that will make a big difference in the starting XI.

Squad players should from now on be taken from our Academy and reserve team.

We need to get rid of 15+ players. That is a lot of players. It will take a few years to get back to the top again. It is not a quick fix.

The Academy is the key to our success. That will allow us to buy £20m+ players instead of like Rafa was forced to do, buy quantity instead of quality.

Tis a poor, poor thread but I have to agree those players would offer us more than we have sadly.
                  3rd place. Worst champions ever.

How many players do we have that we know almost for sure will deliver in 30+ games in the PL?

Reina(he may leave in the summer)

Not a single defender, Agger is injured very often, the same with Johnson.

                    Lucas.

Gerrard also have big injury problems. Meireles?

Then we have Suarez and Carroll.

If Reina leaves that would leave us with Lucas, Suarez and Carroll.

                    Three players.

That says it all really. Three players.

HAHAHAHA. Seriously PTP, this idea really didn't get any better.

You really ARE Graham Souness. And I now insist upon my £10. AND a cookie. A nice one preferably.

Oh, and your poll question was incredibly loaded, considering not all of the players you listed are ****, and not all the ones you suggested are half decent. I couldn't be arsed to edit it sensibly

Was only thinking about warnock last night, we need a backup left back for a year or too, He would be cheap, wages and fee. Only as backup mind, need a better first choice

Don't you think we've done too much of that over the years? Brought in players who aren't really good enough, end up contributing little, and probably still get paid more than someone else at the other end of their career?

Another thing with Warnock - he left because he wanted first team football IIRC. Would he want to come back as a backup?

Insua would be ideal for the backup role, but I think he'll only return if he doesn't get an offer of first team football elsewhere.

the thought of even entertaining having Warnock back at the club is massively, massively underwhelming.

players such as taye taiwo who'd also be on a free would be preferable to him as would half a dozen other realistic targets for that position.
