Spot on Shaggy, i can't really add to that other than saying " we should have the right back sorted out between Flanagan and Kelly next season going on what i seen so far

Oh no, you've just gone and done it.

It was Carra who picked flanagan. Player power again

Sort of reminded me of Finnan tonight. And if we can find another Finnan from our Academy then that'll do for me.
Mate, I thought that as well! Finnan's best quality was that he was solid as a rock. Hardly ever seemed to make a mistake. Very difficult to beat, and contributed well to the attack with his intelligent runs and accurate crossing.

Obviously, way, way too soon, but who knows... maybe the future will see him as right back, with Kelly moved into a central role.

the thing about finnan was that he was the best wrong footed crosser in the league. we would get to the corner and go either way. the defender never knew which foot to cover.

Very good game by the kid.

Calm, cool, composed and very comfortable with the ball in his feet.

No hoofing, just touch and pass.

Hell of a start for the first team.

                He made us proud..

great debut by Flannagan, hope he can capitalize on it. It will defo have lifted his confidence being flawless in the game and helping hold the nil against a strong attacking side.

And it's nice to have a player in the team that makes you think of an Irish pub, you are almost expected to drink a pint with him in the team.

Arn is quite happy to point out when people are acting that way towards him or towards views he holds, so he should be man enough to stand up and say that tonight Carra was first class.

As much as people want Carra out on his ear, the way he commanded the backline tonight is why he will be greatly missed when he hangs up his boots.

Carragher was superb in his 'baby sitting' duties, that helped Flanagan out no end
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He played really well but it was an easy night for him.
I've read people saying it compares with Rob Jones' which is rubbish as RJ marked Giggs out of the game whereas JF didn't actually have anyone up against him for any of the game.
It wasn't what he did but how he did it, composed, technically good and definitely hid his nerves well.
Long way off being at Johnson's and Kelly's level but if he keeps progressing at the same rate it won't be long until he is as good.
He is the perfect example of a young player who next season needs to play, we need to make a decision on him and as long as we have cover he should go out on a season long loan to someone in the PL

Think they said it was his uncle on SS1 last night.

Flanagan had a cracking game last night but he was marshalled superbly by Carra last night, was a real leader on the pitch for us and helped him and the rest of the team hugely.

Could be his uncle, I know there is definitely a connection because his partner (Paul Flanagan) owns the Flanagan Group and I thought I saw an interview with him and he said his lad was playing in the reserves/youth team

There is a definite family resemblance anyway

                              But you could be right

Next season i'd like to see him as the main backup for Johnson and Kelly to be one of the 4 centre backs vying for a starting place.
                                We come not to play.
