If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Not having a go at Enrique because I think he is a good option but I am impressed with how Flanagan maintains possession which seems more in keeping with how we want to play. Often we have 15-20 pass moves, moving the opposition out of position just for Enrique to play that long inside left ball which 90% of the time squanders the good possession we have built or a go on an aimless dribble into a crowd of players. Flanagan on the other hand plays it simple and moves to receive another pass. The third goal against Cardiff being a good example.

                  Agreed

And, while I'm aware of his weaknesses, I like Enrique. Flanagan, like Sakho, is composed in possession and uses the ball really nicely, which obviously suits us better than Enrique's erratic use of the ball.

                    Enrique is frustrating. Really frustrating.

He is. But he is well capable defensively and is also able to make goals. Has a good partnership with Suarez too. He's a good option to have around.

IMO Enrique is incredibly difficult to beat one vs one, his problem is he can very ponderous on the ball and often moves break down when he's in possession, prone to few defensive lapes but who isn't. He does has a nice left foot actually... but is so slow to release the ball. Enrique could well be an excellent LB if his distribution improved.

I have seen enough of Flanagan now to make him a starter even if Enrique is fit. Not as physically strong but more composed, makes better decisions and positionally better.

Enrique is an incredibly strong player as I've never seen him lose a 1 v 1. If he can improve his decision making and passing in offensive situations, he'd be a great player.

Never going to happen now I'm afraid because carra said he is as thick as ****e. I do like him and I would retain him, although if he is on big money that might be wasteful.
