i know its just idle speculation but i wonder if flanagan could cover the dm role. he is a strong tackler, but he needs a bit more maturity and calmness. it might be something that he grows into.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I'm not sure we've ever seen enough of him at right back to know. He was really good on his unnatural side, so signs are goodOriginally posted by Gibbo View PostThe problem is that Moreno looks to be better and is clearly aong term investment, which meants that Flanno would end up back at right back, where he isn't as strong.
Interested to see how he kicks on though.I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

I'd suggest he is 3rd choice on either side.Originally posted by Gibbo View PostThe problem is that Moreno looks to be better and is clearly aong term investment, which meants that Flanno would end up back at right back, where he isn't as strong.

Is he? Really? Based on what evidence? He's certainly behind Moreno at left back but I think a fully fit Flanno will certainly get a place on the bench ahead of Enrique or Manquillo 1) because he is better than both of them and 2) he can play either side so makes more sense from a back up view point.Originally posted by Norbs View PostIt's not that daft
At left he's behind Morino and perhaps Enrique
At right he's behind Johnson and Manquillo
I would agree that Manquillo has the advantage at present because he has played this season and played well. But Flannagan last season was a real asset and I'm sure Brendan will want him back in the team soon.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Well he had to switch to the left and didn't displace Johnson so he's behind him clearly. Then with Manquillo's advantage that makes him 3rd choice RB and I only said perhaps Enrique
Don't mean it as any sort of slight on the lad and I'd have him ahead of Enrique on the left but, on early showing, behind Moreno. On the right I'd have my Nan before Johnson an she's been dead since 2001

Brendan Rodgers has today confirmed that Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan faces 'a few months' on the sidelines with injury, as he provided the latest on squad fitness ahead of a trip to West Ham United.
The 21-year-old full-back has missed the entire outset of the Reds' campaign and will remain unavailable for selection for the near future following a recent operation.
"Young Jon Flanagan, unfortunately, has just had an operation that will probably have him out for a few months - which is disappointing," the manager told Liverpoolfc.com at Melwood.
