I'm not at all sure our current system suits him particularly well.

I know I'm going to be greatly dissapointed, he'll likely not get in and when he does be ****, but have a massive soft spot for this fella so can't wait to see him try anyways

Have seen similar posted by a number of posters and I don't think it is fair on the lad.
He is not lightening quick but has decent pace, he is decent at going forward from a full back position and appears solid enough positionally in defensive terms. He is able to link up well with teammates, and anytime I have seen him he looked to be the sort that would keep battling even when things were not going his way.
So put him in a slightly more advanced starting position but with an extra CB behind him and I think he could well do a job in one of the WB slots. Personally I would like to see him get a few run outs as cover for Moreno in the LWB slot as he seemed more solid at LB than he did at RB.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

i would love to see flanno given some game time as a DM.
i think he could develop to become our midfield enforcer for years to come.
some time in the kids team, some cup games, maybe the odd sub appearance late in games.
That might not be as daft as it sounds. He's sensible on the ball and has a thunderous tackle Get him thinking vertically like Lucas and we might be on to something
I don't think he can move the ball forward as quickly as needed. Lucas is so good because it's difficult to close him down and pressure him, he can facilitate the ball forward under pressure, some players, like Gerrard, tend to pass it straight back under pressure instead of turning and passing.
