    decent tonight.
if it gets away from him he almost always makes a great effort and manages to get a toe on it and pressures the player so he miscontrols and a team mate can pick up the pieces.
made a very important clearance right in front of goal, came steaming back and saved another players ass.

Erratic is a good description but you could see it was rustiness. Tough game to continue his recuperation in, against a pace merchant. I hope he gets a rest against Palace as I can see him getting sent off against their pace merchants. He was full of running and made a load of crucial interceptions, all that let him down was that he's not up to pace with the movement around him and his passing was awry

Did a Sterling job tonight, good player, does well, full back role is not easy nowdays, hope he gets a run , honest down to earth grafter.

Needs to be kept and played more often. ****s all over Moreno.

Clyne actually looks pretty good at LB too.

My absolute fav player at the club right now. Tough, smart and direct. Love seeing him on the team sheet, he makes the team a lot more dangerous and also sets a ****ing great tone ... he shows up, he puts himself and about and players know they have a tough 90 mins ahead when they come up against him.

He's not a panicker either, cleans up his own mess too

It was Sterling on the end of that if it got through. Certain?

I reckon there's more to this contract situation than meets the eye. On the face of it the club have been very fair with him - he's been out for two years, it's only natural that they want to see him come back and play a few games (and cope with recovery - which Klopp is hinting at) before throwing a new contract his way. So why the media stories and pressure being applied? Has someone said that he's not going to be offered one?

As long as he's not asking the Earth, a new contract is a no-brainer really.

Shame he can't play against the Mancs, prefer him to Moreno.

I thought he was good last night, better than ok but not brilliant.
He's just easing himself back from 18 months out and according to Klopp he needs 2-3 days recovery after a game so that's why he was left out of the EL squad.

He should get a new deal but it should be a normal basic with a heavily weighted appearance as for all we know he could break down again and be out for another 12-18 months

I think you are reading to much into the situation. I reckon they'll eventually offer him a 3 year contract weighted with fitness clauses.

He's been out for a long time and he's nowhere near full fitness yet. I don't believe that they are taking liberties because of his affinity to the club and he's a local lad. It looks like Teixeira will leave the club who i think is as promising but they obviously think they can do better. Even with kids you're probably talking about a £10m contract over three years so economically it sometimes is worth letting youngsters go. Mignolet was protected but that's an international.

I posted this pages and pages ago.
Flanagan is on 50k a week, the contract Kenny gave him in 2011, he signed an extra year last year to get him through his injuries.
Made his debut at 18, hes 23 and has played 50 games.
50% of those games were in half a season under Rodgers.

                                Otherwise you're looking at 25 games in 4 years/seasons - 6 a year/season.
His agent is also playing the scouser card.

Yes we should offer him a new deal but 50k a week is too much for him based on what he has achieved to date let alone an increase.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
