Didn't go to the game but had a work mate who did. In the days before mobile phones we had to wait until Monday to see if he turned in at work. I remember waiting in reception with another of our mates talking about what we had seen on the news and in the papers and waiting, just hoping that he was ok. Fortunately he was, he had been in the upper tier and had been safe. He never went to the match after that and didn't ever really talk about it.
96 dead and so many people touched by a tragedy, that as we know could and should have been avoided and for which the guilty have never been brought to account.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
