not yet, got in order from Amazon, hopefully it'll turn up on Tuesday - bit worried it's going to make me angry, very angry at what actually transpired during those 44 months.

I'm afraid it will, in many ways.Originally posted by rcasemore View Postnot yet, got in order from Amazon, hopefully it'll turn up on Tuesday - bit worried it's going to make me angry, very angry at what actually transpired during those 44 months.
I'm even a little irritated by Brian Reade's super fan act and sneaky jabs at out of towners. Seems like a bit of a nob to be honest.Cult Member. Nazi puncher.

Moores and Parry coming across as a right pair of jokers, particularly Moores. They got suckered in hook line and sinker. Gullible old fools.
Pre-ordered from Amazon. Due middle of next week. Can't wait to get stuck in. Couple of mates who are reading it say Moores is getting a ****ing caning.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Right through all the **** with Hicks and Gillet Reade stood out like a beacon. He spoke out regularly through his column in the Mirror trying to educate the rest of the country as to what they were up to while the rest of the press slaughtered Benitez. He IS a super fan and bleeds LFC. I ain't read the book yet so I can't comment on what you've said but I think he wrote the book to try and set the story straight and not to get rich. Liverpool fans born and bred will always snipe at OOTs. Just as OOTs insist they're better fans for travelling long distances for games etc. It's not an argument worth having.Originally posted by chadrtc View PostI'm afraid it will, in many ways.

Got the book yesterday and finished it at 2am this morning. To say I was shocked and stunned by its contents is putting it mildly. Basically, Parry still thinks he did nothing wrong, even though both he and David Moores admit that they did no due dilligence at all on Hicks. Gillette said he was a good guy and they took his word. Seriously. DIC sorta admitted they ****ed up the first time when they let the Yanks nick in ahead of them and came back with Amanda Stavely to ask Hicks what he wanted. He said £1 billion!!!! Theres more, but if I hated the cunts before I hope they both burn in hell now!Originally posted by chadrtc View PostHas anyone else read any of this yet? Reade just comes across as extremely eager to point out what a super fan he is at every interval in the book.Cult Member. Nazi puncher.

how does that work then
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yeah, there are a few contradictions in there as well. Getting stuck into people for saying 'Shanks would love that' whilst Reade does it himself continually throughout the book.Originally posted by Gingawaria View PostI'm about two thirds of the way into it at the moment. It's a good read so far although the literary blow job SOS are getting is a little much.
Still, a decent read, but after the first couple of chapters there isn't anything there that I haven't read plenty of times before in the newspapers.Cult Member. Nazi puncher.
