    Jack Robinson

Think he deserves his own thread after an impressive game v Arsenal, and also considering he is likely to play the rest of the season out.

Anyway, hows this for a stat: Not only is he our youngest ever player after making his debut v Hull last season. He is also the youngest player to have played in the Premiership this season. By SIX months. Josh Mchecran (sp) of Chavs is the second youngest.

When you think of how well he did, that is quite an incredible stat. It also puts it into perspective for those wondering why the likes of Suso and Sterling aren't starting games. We are not the only club sensible enough to realise that young lads should be eased in.
    Forwards.......

Interestingly, Robinson, Suso and Stirling all occupy positions we are sorely lacking in at the moment ~

    LB - Robinson
    LM - Stirling
    AM - Suso

Here's looking forward to buying some top quality players in those departments to help us go for the title and teach these three players to be better.

With Kelly, Flanagan, Robinson and Spearing we are saving lots of cash and wages for next season. Ship out (if someone will have them) Poulsen and PFK and we still have players who can offer back-up and squad depth. Sterling, Suso and Coady are players who can do same in the next two seasons.

Just brilliant IMO. Saw a interview with Comolli where he stated that we need to be careful in NOT buying players in front of talented youngsters, which is great news IMO. Exciting times ahead now, how our situation has changed since september

Oh, and Robinson impressed me so much, just like Flanagan against City.

Thing is, the change happened much before. We're just seeing the rewards now.
          Are we winning?

the one thing which i hope doesn't happen is robbinson and flannagan being replaced by expensive new signings and they never get a chance again

I not talking about the acaddemy setup though, Rafa did very well there. It's just the overall feel of the club, we are going somewhere, there is a sense of direction and strategy and a positive outlook.

I think the issue is more for Robinson than Flannagan. With Kelly, him and Johnson for right back I can't see us investing there. On the left though we do probably need extra cover as Aurelio is so rarely fit. I've said before though that I think we can afford a stop gap in wide areas if it allows investment in the spine of the team.

That quote from Comolli seemed to suggest that we wont infact buy players in positions where we have talented youngsters coming through, at least no directly in front of them.

I think it's enough buying one left back though, keep Aurelio and Robinson as back up for next season and the season after that we'll hopefully have the guy and Robinson. If both stand up to expectations.

I agree. I can't imagine that we will be looking to buy more than that given the attitude of Kenny to playing young players and the comments from Commolli.

I can't see us buying more than one left back. The new left back will be first choice with Aurelio (if fit) or Johnson (regular RB, but moved to LB if Kelly is fit and regular LB is out) providing senior back up with Robinson being brought through.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
