Regardless of how many FB’s we sign, I hope this recent experiment has proved that we should NEVER play Carra, Agger or Wilson at FB again.

Forgot about Johnson, we are looking well stocked in the fullback positions next seasons if we get a top left back in.Originally posted by Exiled_red View Post
I can't see us buying more than one left back. The new left back will be first choice with Aurelio (if fit) or Johnson (regular RB, but moved to LB if Kelly is fit and regular LB is out) providing senior back up with Robinson being brought through.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Flanagan is already 3rd in line behind Kelly & JohnsonOriginally posted by Bender View Postthe one thing which i hope doesn't happen is robbinson and flannagan being replaced by expensive new signings and they never get a chance again
Robinson will be behind whoever we bring in for the leftback position and maybe Johnson
I actually think short term thats about right for those players because I'm sure with injuries etc.. they will get gamesBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I think that the majority of the PL season 2 of Johnson, Kelly and the new LB playing:
First choice: Johnson RB, New signing LB
Johnson out: Kelly RB, New signing LB
New signing out: Kelly RB, Johnson LB
Obviously assuming that no more than one of those three are out at the same time (or being rested). Maybe Kelly and Johnson being rotated to keep everyone fresh and Aurelio getting the odd game to keep the new LB fresh.
Flanagan and Robinson to play in the cup games and get some Premiership mins as sub when possible. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Typical of the King though
Pressure situation, losing players to injury, under the cosh a bit away from home against one of the better teams in the league........forced to having to bring a kid on, and what does he do ??
........shares a joke or two with him as he's getting ready to come on, both of them laughing and smiling by the time he's running on.
Remarkable management, I said at the time to a couple lads I was watching it with."I will make the boys feel your support"

Yeah totally agree, I can see Jack stepping up as backup left back because who else is there? Aurelio is always injured (Unfortunate because he's a good player) Konchesky you would hope is sold asap and Insua probably won't be back here. Get rid of these 3, and bring in a quality left back and let Jack get in the action early, that experience will be invaluable. Im not sure this will happen, and I think most people would disagree but Id be quite happy with it.Last edited by yamiedo; 19-04-11, 02:55 PM.

Ice cool performance up against the fastest player in the league.
The thing that Flanagan and Robinson, is that they both have pace and at full-back that's essential in the modern game.
If you're a centre half, you can possibly get away with not having pace but out at full back you really do need it.
