One thing I noticed in the Arsenal game was his passion towards the end of the game. Considering it was only his second first team outing, the lads not shy and he was pretty fierce in shouting down the linesman! It's good to see that in a defender, a guy who will voice his opinion and make sure hes heard by the rest of the team.

Defender's joy at new contract
Jack Robinson today spoke of his joy after signing a new long-term contract at Liverpool Football Club.

The left-back - who turned 18 in September - has got his reward for displaying huge promise during five first-team appearances.
"I'm delighted," he told Liverpoolfc.tv. " I was going for my lunch and I saw Damien (Comolli) on my way through. He pulled me to one side and said the club wanted to offer me a new contract."
There was no doubt in my mind, I was just so excited the club were offering me a contract.
"I've just got to keep working hard in training. I can't just sit back on this contract. I've got to keep improving and showing people what I'm about."
Robinson, who joined Liverpool at U10 level, became the club's youngest ever player after coming on as a substitute against Hull on the final day of 2009-10.
His other four appearances have been under Kenny Dalglish, including a superb display to thwart Theo Walcott at the Emirates in April.

Beforehand he received some words of encouragement from his manager.
Robinson explained: "I was so nervous, but before I came on Kenny had a little joke with me and kept my nerves in the bag. I was fine going onto the pitch after that.
"It was a good challenge against Theo, and luckily I had a good game."
Robinson faces stiff competition for a regular slot on the left side of Liverpool's defence, most notably from new signing Jose Enrique, who has impressed all with his form to date.
"He's been fantastic in every game he's played," said Robinson. "I need to learn from him. He's the perfect role model because he's got everything as a left-back.Last edited by Mostar; 31-10-11, 03:57 PM.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Aye, he's going to be a cracking player.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

I think it is too early to tell.Originally posted by Reece View PostGood news indeed. Out of him and Flanagan, he looks the better prospect of the two for me.
If we get 1 regular starter out of 2 of them then our Academy did their job and to me that is the only thing that matters.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Agreed.Originally posted by Reece View PostOf course, just meant that from what I've seen of them so far, Robinson looks the better of the two. Hope they both turn in to top, top players though - would save us a few bob!
Flanno doesn't look as good a player as Kelly.
Fast forward a few years and I can see Flanagan playing for a mid level Premiership team, while Robinson has a good chance of making with us.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

Lets not unfairly hype Robinson while unfairly writing off Flanagan as only mid table worthy. Both have a chance of making it with us, and both have the temperament to do a good job. Robinson has a better chance right now due to LB being sparsely filled.
RB could also find an opening for Flano to re-ignite his career after a shaky period if both GJ and Kelly get injured together, which lets face it is quite likely. I would say both are on equal footing in terms of ability right now.One tit for another.

I like Flanagan a lot. Don't think there is much between them.
