    That's good enough for me.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

So how does that mean we'd get Europa for 6th?

        Explain, rcasemore, explain god dammit!

It appears he was over-zealous in his claims.

                ****ing useless.

Can we not check the facts before posting stuff like this? It can ruin one's day.

well i haven't read through the whole thread so some of my points may have been covered but **** it....

first - i think everyone, fans and maybe even players thought with our current form and spurs decline, that we'd just blow them away.

We seemed to stall from the start, atmosphere was flat, and we just didn't get going. One issue we had was the lack of width, certainly down the left side, as maxi seemed to constantly have his back towards goal meaning any forward momentum stopped when it got to him. Lucas and Spearing seemed a bit stale and out classed in midfield, suarez couldn't get any space and all in all it just didn't happen.......We just couldn't create anything and I've only seen the goals once from the kop, so i can't comment on them too much - van der vaarts looked like a great finish? and i've no idea if it was a penalty or not as I can't see that far

I thought our best player was flannagan - fair play to him, really improving with each game

It was just one big anti climax - one of the most bizarre end to the seasons/last home games i've been too....no real atmosphere, quite flat, and with the ****ty weather, miserable, almost as if everyone just wanted to get it over and done with and get home

Part of me thinks that maybe, just maybe the announcement for kenny to take over should have been delayed to the end of the season? maybe not ? i don't know But somehting happened, maybe something in the water, because the build up over the last few weeks was promising that this game would be a carnival and it just never happened
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I've thought for some time now that mods should just mod and not try to take part in discussions. The qualities that make someone a good mod (tact, a cool head, clarity of expression, etc.) are simply so different from what is required of a regular poster (overemotional, kneejerk, stupid, and so on).

Of course it's something of a moot point due to the fact that very few of our mods possess the requisite qualities. Even so I still think they should be banned.

Spurs were the better side mate. We huffed and puffed, but had no real quality and gave the ball away far too much. They kept and used the ball much better than we did.

                        Thanks Neil.

                        Finally, a voice of reason.

Maybe now we can get back to our rebuilding job and approach the next season without the smothering expectation of Kenny leading us to a title.
I think Champions League is a more sensible goal tbh.
While it's still possible to win it next season, the likelyhood of Kenny leading lfc to a title in even the next 3 seasons are slim, and whatever anyone says the odds are against us given the power of our rivals as we stand now, without them adding further quality.

                          But we live hope.

3 years is a long time in football

Hell 4 months is a long time (just look where we were 4 months ago)

Its impossible to predict where we will be next season before we see the summer we and others have in the transfer window

The same applies for all the subsequent windows that follow

Lets wait and see who has what come Mid August then we can start talking about next season but beyond that its way too early
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Agree, but that's where i am right now, imo it'll take time to build this team into a title winning one, especially given the amount of sides now regarded as being title contenders, or atleast if not yet being title contenders, there are more sides with boards/owners looking to make them title winners.

I just think it's going to be hard, and i expect it to be so, but as i said we live in hope, and it is of course possible because it's football, and i'll enjoy it with Kenny at the helm whatever happens. (barring any real distaers)

I think the King will do well next year.

Nonetheless, I can't help but think

"Christ Almighty- will we EVER win a Premier League title??? "
