Next season is another step towards being proper contenders and if we can finish top 4 it will bring in more revenue to the club and thus better players for the final step to being outright challengers for the EPL.

I cant see us challenging for the 2012-13 premier league and not before.
Hard to disagree. Can see the two Manc Clubs dominating the League next season.

      Just to change the subject.

How poor has Joe Cole been?

Did he even have one decent game for us? Priority must be to shift his wages elsewhere.

we've lost massive money on joe cole. I don't recall any crucial contributions from him all season. It was a bad gamble.

On another topic for the season, I can't believe how every season we end up losing points to the clubs that get relegated. This season its 10 points IIRC 6 to blackpool, 3 west ham and 1 point to brum.

Normally id be disappointed but I think these two defeats will actually be a blessing for us. It shows the reality of how much needs to be improved upon for us to challenge for the title next season. Hopefully it will lead to the owners spending serious money this summer to bridge the gap

Disagree. If the owners are really serious about spending money then its very possible we can challenge. Our rivals are good but not that good and we have proved that this season by beating the other top teams. We beat Utd easily at anfield, beat City easily at anfield and beat Chelsea twice. That shows we aren't far away at all and the league is quite an open one.

We need to bolster our defence with a couple of top quality signings and bring in a couple of quality wingers. If we can do that then we have the quality to challenge

Seriously, got to be right up there as one of our worst buys ever. I really doubt ANY PL team will want him.

Must be 10, 11 or 12 yrs since we've not been in a european competition of some sort. (without trying to be all Lawro with my estimation), it's a good while anyway.

Suppose its good that we never paid a transfer fee for him. Im sure Harry Redknapp will give us atleast £3m for him

I actually feel sorry for him. He looks like he's totally aware that he's suddenly unable to do anything with the ball but totally confused as to why not.

Must be horrific to go from being such a gifted, technical and skilful player to, erm, Joe Cole in a Liverpool shirt
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I am excited to have Kenny back, but if you look at the four road losses under him-- Blackpool (relegated), West Ham (relegated), WBA (Woy in charge, a club far beneath Liverpool's station) and now Villa (ok, maybe)-- these are games Liverpool should be winning. We have been decimated by injury and the side are still working out the kinks, but you can't lose to Blackpool, West Ham, WBA. Those are points we'll have to be taking next season if we want to compete for anything at all. I know we all know this, but it should be said; everyone has something to do this summer. I have faith we'll get it done, but I'll be watching carefully to see what might be in store.

This is a make or break season for LFC coming up.
