Ironic considering you're telling others to stop following you.
We lost 4 out of the 11 under Kenny, so it's not all down to Roy.
    That's all i'm saying.

Kenny Dalglish has revealed Andy Carroll, Maxi Rodriguez and Glen Johnson missed Liverpool's trip to Aston Villa on Sunday due to injury.

Carroll was left on Merseyside due to a knee problem, while Maxi and Johnson have adductor and hamstring knocks respectively.

Dalglish explained: "Andy's not been able to sustain any reasonable time in training and it would have been irresponsible of us to bring him.

"We played him last week (against Tottenham), but it was unfair on him that we did ask him to play. I didn't think we should risk the boy's fitness by bringing him. Although we've not got any games, it's important they're all back fit in July.

"It's the same with Glen, who had a problem with his hamstring, so we left him up there. I know Rudo doesn't rate him but I do and it's important we don't take any risks with Glen. Maxi had a problem with his adductor, so it's better to miss this game than pre-season training.

"I don't think any of them will need surgery."

Meanwhile, Jay Spearing and Jonjo Shelvey are facing scans on Monday after picking up injuries at Villa Park.

Spearing was forced from the field with an ankle knock following a heavy challenge from Nigel Reo-Coker, while his replacement Shelvey has a knee complaint.

"There were players who played who probably shouldn't have," Dalglish said. "Jonjo Shelvey should not have played more than 20-25 minutes, so I think his knee will be a bit painful in the morning and young Jay's ankle will certainly be a bit painful in the morning.

"But you get to this stage of the season and I am sure a lot of people would say that."

Dalglish added: "Jonjo might be the biggest problem for the summer and wee Jay. They've got scans tomorrow to see what their problems are.

"Soto (Kyrgiakos) was injured as well, so maybe the end of the season has come at the right time for us - I might have been in next week!"

A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

For a start it's likely that our main rivals will be buying what the football world right now consider to be the better players, so if teams that finished ahead of us buy better players, it makes sense that we need to be better in other ways, and that'll take time.

Trouble is, trying to have a better academy/youth system is difficult, again because of the wealth of our rivals, and the proffessional way they all go about it.

Yep, it's going to be tough, but i accept that and expect it, so it's fine.

I suppose the FFP is gonna be crucial to us, isn't it? It should() rein the sides above us in a bit till we really get our **** together.

Really hope it does, but it sounds to me like there will be a hell of a lot of leeway given, so how long it takes before it actually becomes an advantage to us i don't know, a while i expect.

Then there's always the worry that the wealth and power some of these owners have will enable them to find a way round it, to what extent i don't know...but they'll damn well try.

i am optimistic for the future and to be honest the lack of euro footy next year should make the league and cups easier on us.......we don't need to build as big a squad as anticipated but at the end of the day, with a couple of top class additions, and luck with injuries, then we can compete for the league and cup next year (i'd leave the carling cup for the kids / fringe players)

also, this summer we will only be able to buy players that really want to play for LFC.....

However, we got ourselves into a position where we should have got 5th and folded under the pressure.......

Dalglish after today's game:"They've done fantastic since we came in January so while we were disappointed with the last two results, they've really lifted their effort and commitment," said Dalglish.

                          Effort

"It would have been nice to get a victory and have a feel-good factor right throughout the summer but as I say the effort and the determination was there for the players.

"After their efforts to get this close (to fifth place) maybe it was a wee bit too much. Joe (Cole) has not played for a while so it was good to see him on the pitch because his attitude has been fantastic.

"Fabio (Aurelio) hasn't played that often and Jonjo (Shelvey) is struggling a bit now. His knee has given him a problem and that's why he hasn't been involved so often.

"It was a pretty even game. I think in the second half we played better than we did in the first.

"We had a really good chance, I'm not sure whether it was Richard Dunne or Brad Friedel who saved it. The boys have done fantastic to get this close and they gave it all they had."

When asked whether there will be any changes to the playing staff over the summer, Dalglish admits it will be an inevitability.

"It's part and parcel of football that there will be ins and outs this summer so it will be no different," he added.

i think anybody thinking we;re going to win the league next year it probably deluded or very optimistic.

Next season is another step towards being proper contenders and if we can finish top 4 it will bring in more revenue to the club and thus better players for the final step to being outright challengers for the EPL.

I cant see us challenging for the 2012-13 premier league and not before.

I take your point but the league just looks wide open. You just have to look at the sheer number of points that are dropped to other teams to see how much of a chance we have. Something like 70% of the Manc's points have come at home this year so match their home record and stop ****ing up away against teams around the bottom (as well as maintaining our record against those in the top 4) and we must be at least in with a shout to be considered contenders.

I appreciate I wrote if a lot in that passage

up until last week we had the 2nd best record since january. damn near championship form. ok, we came unstuck at the end, but we did it all missing about 5 first team players and fielding fringe players and youngsters.

                                roll on transfers and august.
