I was referring to this bit. What's Under Armour sponsoring Spurs got to do with our Warrior deal?

It appears to be based on the assumption that New Balance will be sponsoring Spurs, which as you've pointed out is incorrect.

Liverpool’s Performance Didn’t Warrant Price, Adidas CEO Says

            http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-0...head-says.html

Adidas declined to renew its apparel deal with 18-time English soccer champion Liverpool because the price was too high given the team’s poor performance, the chief executive officer of the world’s second- biggest sporting goods maker said today.

Liverpool, which is also a five-time European champion, has replaced Adidas with a club record, 6-year, 25 million pound ($38.3 million) contract with Warrior Sports, a subsidiary of New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc.

The accord, Warrior’s first major soccer contract, begins next season and is worth almost double the current agreement with Adidas.

“The gap between their performance on the field and what the number should be is not in balance,” Adidas CEO Herbert Hainer said in an interview in Munich today.
“Then we said, ‘Okay we will not do it.
That’s the end of the story.’” Liverpool didn’t respond.
So Warrior are paying double what Adi paid?
            Strange one..

**** EM! Did they offer more when we ruled europe and won the Champions league! Pricks. Why say anything at all, bitter ****ers!

Reading between the lines...This is what happened....obviously...

Then we said, ‘Okay we will not do it.
(calling our bluff here, they don't have anyone else to pay that much they thought )

That’s the end of the story.’” ( they'll be back they thought)

                Liverpool didn’t respond.

Find it bizarre how Adidas have effectively dumped us..

Aren't we one of their biggest selling kits? Surely sales should outweigh performance in this commercial matter?

Think we dumped them tbf, we offered them the chance to equal Warriors bid, as they are our current sponsors, but they didn't value us highly enough.

                      Seems straightforward enough to me.

I think they can afford to choose on this one.

The Olympics will be massive for them as a brand and with us not being near the top of the European pile they maybe realised the club isn't everything..

In terms of global support though you'd think it was a no brainer, regardless of where we are in competitions..
