Surely his ability to judge a players potential is vital. The only comparison available is from 20 years ago. Parts of the game have changed, and no one is saying standards are the same.

The point I was making was that Kenny in the past had signed players that we may no have though were top notch at the time, but proved otherwise in his system.

And its not just Kenny. I remember people were questioing the signings of Hyypia and Henchoz.

Sometimes you have to trust that the manager knows what he is doing.

My fear is that is Commoli who may have the final say.

I think you have misunderstood me, I said your comparison doesn't really stand up. You were the one who compared players.

I don't rate the players we are linked to, I'm not going to pretend otherwise. I am genuinely worried.

I have to admit, I am confused.

I was not comparing the players (merely using them as an example), but the managers ability to judge players in a way that we cant

We're squad building. We don't have any squad depth, as pointed out by the owners. Not every signing can be a stellar god of football. We'll have marquee signings like Suarez and *cough* Carroll, but LFC need more than those players to function and compete.

Fair enough, I thought you were using them as comparison.

I still feel very uninspired right now.

And you aren't reassured by the very high probability that Dalglish isn't worried?
                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Being that Kenny can probably spot potentially great players better than any of us.

And only he can truely understand exactly how he expects his teams, positions, and players he brings in to play those positions to perform. So I think we should trust his judgement.

As I said, the only area I think he did not sign so well in was in the defensive area. with the likes of Burrows, Hysen, Venison, Tanner... I think Ablett was a yoof.
Yes I remember Kenny's astute signings of the legendary Jimmy Carter and David Speedie. Most fans thought that they were ****e, but Kenny's keen eye spotted their astonishing potential first.

Venison was an excellent full-back incidentally

My concern with the transfers we are making is that we are going to be pretty **** in Pro Evo.

Otherwise I'm pretty happy as long as we go get a good LB and winger.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Definitely still need a marquee signing though, hopefully that will be Mata or in our dreams maybe Aguero!
