But I actually like this kit. It's design is clear and better than the **** black/charcoal number we have and if I was 21 I'd have one.
I agree with all of this.

really not sure about this shirt, as someone has said earlier there is nothing that instantly makes it a liverpool shirt (appart from the badge)

It looks like a City or Chav$ki away shirt and you know what Gerard just doesn't look right in it.

Because your shirt is part of your club identity, and red shirts are as much associated with us as they are with Man Utd. Blue isn't associated with us, never has been, never will be. This kit will be looked back on in years to come as our most terrible...like that chocolate brown one that Coventry had in the 70s is for them.

Newcastle had to wear their banana coloured kit towards the back end of the season for 'contractual reasons' ... I don't know if we will have something similar written down.

For me, it's Adidas' way of giving us a big **** you on our way to Warrior.

EDIT: I see Craig_H and Exiled_Red have made similar points.

The fact you use the word apparently shows that it has never been associated with us, no matter whether we've worn it once before or not. When you say blue shirts, no-one thinks of Liverpool.

Revealed exclusively today on Liverpoolfc.tv, our third choice strip for the new season is white, cyan and black in colour, with the inclusion of cyan blue a throwback to Liverpool's first ever home kit back in 1892 which incorporated alternate white and blue halves.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It does look a bit like a rashy, but also looks more like a training kit rather than a playing kit. Red instead of blue makes much more sense and the photoshopped versions on here look good.

**** me - how hard is this for you lot to grasp. I'm not saying we never wore blue, I'm saying that blue is not a colour that people have ever associated with Liverpool football club. It is not part of our club identity.

Did any of you, at all, honestly, know that we had a blue kit in 1892 until the marketing spiel released as part of the kit launch?

it has been associated with us. that is a fact. it may not be now and possibly never will be again but those are different to never has.

we wore blue in our first season. its reasonable to say that it was therefore associated with us.

if i said yellow kit or green kit to people it would take a long time till someone said liverpool..

                            It's a piece of history..

After the club were formed back in 1892 after the famous rent row at Anfield with Everton, the club came into existence wearing a blue and white halved shirt similar to what you see today at Blackburn Rovers.

The kit was made to make some distinction between themselves and Everton who were playing in various strips including Salmon Pink or Ruby Red.

Just inside the 1900s the two clubs switched to their more commonly known kits.

Everton returned to their original colours of blue and white whilst Liverpool switched to a red kit.

It was during Bill Shankly’s days though that the kit of today was born. He decided that the players would look even bigger and more importantly more intimidating to the opposition if the players changed their shorts to all red ones.

its easy to grasp that you keep saying it was never associated with us. This is incorrect in our first season it was our kit. So at that time yes it was associated with us.

you are correct that now and for a very long time it hasnt been associated with us.. the problem is thats not the same as Never Ever

How hard is it to grasp that you can’t keep saying never or have ever?

Edit: That's the third time in the last 5 mins that I've made the same post as someone but been a minute too slow in posting.
