Some help to shut a manc up....

Right guys, some idiot manc is spouting ****e on Facebook....and i need some actual documented evidence to shut her up. The debate is generally about the mancs debt and how this can hamstring them in terms of what they can spend.

    Her latest bout of ****e:

We are the second most valuable sports brand given we have a huge amount of support in Asia, something your team could never hope to claim. £500m of debt is easily manageable. It becomes an issue if lenders lose faith in our ability to repay. So far this has not happened & since the Glazers have been able to turn down offers to buy the club (if they were in the **** they'd not be so hasty). And floating us on the HK SE would see us valued at £1.7bn which I think more than covers our debt.
Now i know LFC are huge in Asia, but can someone find me a link to some kind of report or article to actually show the stupid mare?

Some of her other pearls of wisdom:

This is when she posted a link from the S*n, to try and show they're going to buy Sanchez from Udinese.

    I replied with this:

Jade, banter is all well and good and i'll happily take part, but not when it comes to that utter ****rag and the bull**** lies they published about 96 innocent people who went to a football match and never came home. That could've happened to any of us, it could've been me or you.
    Her reply:

So what news source do you deem to be worthy of your time? It's a pretty good paper for sports news. And generally it's quite well written despite its not so intellectual content.
    Me:

I dont take any newspaper as gospel - you realise their goal is to sell papers, right? Not to actually print the truth.

I'll go to a slightly more reliable document when it comes to Man Utd's finance - like the annual accounts posted to Companies House, for the 12 months ending June 30, 2010. They show annual losses of £108.9m. Now the lovely Scum newspaper can print all of its sensationalistic bollocks, but when it comes to pure fact, the company accounts are based slightly more on reality than the desire to sell units.

And i dont know whether to laugh or cry at the fact that you go to tabloid newspapers when you're looking for accurate news. I actually thought you were joking, but it seems not.
    Then, again about their finances:

    Me:

Well Jade, then you should know better than i do, that when a club posts a profit of £21m (as you did 2 years ago) after having acquired £80m for the sale of an asset, and that £80m asset sales arent an annual occurrance, that the notion of MUFC having substantial transfer funds available, when it has emphatic debt servicing costs on debt of over half a billion pounds, is fanciful at best.

Put simply, if the club posts annual losses of over £100m AND it also has to service debt of over half a billion, where is the money coming from to spend circa £60m or more on transfers?

Can you provide me with some kind of evidence or at least some logical argument as to why what i'm saying is incorrect and where the money comes from? Rather than just 'we make a lot of profits' - because, if nothing else, the latest accounts now seem to suggest otherwise.

Oh and by the way, if the answer is 'via more debt' - then great. I hope that happens!
    Her:

Nope via floating club shares on the HK stock exchange bruv. Also, companies house will have the accounts from the previous yr which doesn't actually reflect our current position so you'd effectively be looking at out of date data non?

And unlike teams such as yours we are the second most valuable sports brand in the world, 3rd in the football money league (behind Barca & Real). That makes us a valuable commodity & a good investment for potential buyers - we generate significant commercial income.
    Me:

You generate commercial income and the bulk of it goes on debt servicing. Your club is over half a billion quid in debt and any buyer would have to take on that debt too, or clear it. Can you actually answer the question i posted earlier with something of more substance than just rhetoric?

Floating shares onto the HK exchange equates to selling a portion of the club, which will only be a small amount. Nowhere near enough to meet debt costs. I notice the HK float story was doing the rounds in the papers the other day, so i dont need to ask where you got it from...
She then replied with the 'Asia' support thing, that we could only 'dream of.

    I replied with:

Sorry Jade, i stopped reading at 'something your team could never hope to claim'....LFC's support in Asia is astronomical. As i have said, do some research.
    Her reply:

Really? Cos funny I have yet to meet one Asian LFC supporter or see one. More scouse bs by the sounds of it. If your support was 'astronomical' ours must be so big is beyond comprehension. We've deffo got more support than the Scoucers there by a long way.
    I replied with this:

Again Jade, any football fan with a bit of knowledge would know how massive LFC (and yes, Man Utd too - because i'm not as deluded as to try and ignore the reality of things) are in Asia.
    And then, my last reply:

You made a profit of £21m in 2009 (due to the £80m Ronaldo money). You made a loss of over £100m in 2010. What magic beans have you got to suddenly turn those figures around to the tune of a £200m swing (which is what's needed) for 2011?

As if we don't have to sit through enough of your arguments on here, you are now posting your external ones?

      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Speaking of manc cunts, there is a guy who roams around the mirrorfootball website called 'Enlightener' and he basically comments on every single liverpool article being an absolute cunt to any liverpool fan who makes a comment on the articles, no matter how balanced the comment may be. He is so pompous and is generally a dick. I would love for a group of people to abuse him on a regular basis.

Has anyone else seen the guy?

As horrific as it may seem, surely you're on my side with this one??

To suggest LFC 'could never hope to claim' massive support in Asia is ****ing retarded at best

I just wanted to see if anyone has a link to any kind of document or article which quantifies how big we are in Asia. Most of her arguments come from what she read in the ****ing S*n or some other ****e.

Of course I agree on this one, I just don't know where you get the energy/tenacity to argue about it, especially with a dirty manc

Craig, if they had an award for most argumentative person in the world, you would be top 10 for sure. It would be a close race but I could see you making the podium.

I am surely in the right, arguing this one though?

That seriously made my day that train trip. If we went home after that I would have been happy. Like my dad said to me later, it was like you said to the guy "You're a dickhead, **** off" but in a nice way without swearing

                          He asked for it!

In all seriousness though, with regards to matters like the Hodgson at LFC issue, fans of a club generally know better about their own club than fans of other clubs.

Just tell her we earn as much as they do from Mktg related events and if bulk of theirs comes from Asia so does ours.

We earn around 85 to 90% of what they earn through Mktg related activities.

Also tell Jadie that floating a property on HK exchange won't fetch her peanuts as supporting a team and buying a share are an entirely different thing because if a rich guy buys majority shares just because he sees it as an asset, he expects returns/dividends every year and hence they won't be able to spend as much as they have to be paying dividends every year.

That will cripple them in a way as they cannot move fast enough to buy players as a lot of paper work is required to finish the deal and if they want to buy Berba for 35m a lot of investors will question that decision. We snapped up Glenn Hysen from under their noses in the late 80's as they were slow in getting all the paper work finished (as they were a plc back then) and we just went ahead and signed him in the mean while.

Also if you don't have a crush on Jadie just tell her to buzz off and spare us the agony
Patience when teased often, transforms into rage
