I'd have him instead of Adam as he offers alot more to his game but that's my opinion. If he stays, which I really hope he does,no way will he be 5th or 6th choice.
    Gerrard
    Adam
    Henderson
    Lucas

Will all be ahead of him, which makes him 5th choice at the very best.

Offers more than Adam? You're saying this on the back of what exactly? Adam having a superb season and Aquilani impressing so much that Juventus refused to buy him for £8m?

He has something to offer us. I think we need to figure out what system we are going to play first because I don't think any of us know.
Kenny knows what he wants, and he had no plans on keeping Aquilani. If we got a decent offer, he'd be gone already. That's a fact, honestly, can anyone argue this?

He's not in our plans and I sincerely hope someone buys him and gives him games so he can save his career. If he stays with us, he's going to rot another season on the sidelines.

Do we know that he didn't want Aquilani, or was he just assuming that he wouldn't be here because he thought Juventus would take up the option to buy him? (like may of us thought). The decision was out of his and the club's hands while Juventus had that option, thanks to that crazy loan deal last summer.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Mate having your own opinions is one thing but talking bollocks and claiming it as facts like you know what Kenny's thinking is just that, bollocks, with all due respect!

Kenny signed Adam and Henderson after Juventus passed up the deal.

Kenny Dalglish: Alberto Aquilani is a quality player and can be like a new signing for Liverpool
With Juventus not making a sufficient bid for the Italian, the Reds boss said he could feature next season, although he is looking for big signings to boost the squad

Kenny Dalglish has opened the door for Alberto Aquilani to return to the Liverpool squad next season by declaring that the midfielder would be welcomed back to the club.

The Italian signed in 2009 to replace Xabi Alonso, who had moved to Real Madrid, but injuries and a lack of form limited him to a handful of appearances at Anfield and Roy Hodgson loaned him out to Juventus last summer.

The 26-year-old, who has scored twice in 36 appearances for the Serie A side, was expected to make his move to Turin permanent but the club have not made a bid which matches Liverpool’s valuation.

And newly confirmed manager Dalglish has said that the player would be a welcome addition to his squad for next season.

"There's a distinct possibility he could be back here. He's a quality player," he told reporters.

"He got off to a bad start here with his injuries and never really got going after missing pre-season.

"He went out on loan and has done very well over there. If he was to come back here, for me that would be like a new face coming in."

Dalglish has confirmed that the club's owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), have given him money to spend this summer and the Scot is determined to spend it on quality players, in the mould of Luis Suarez who has been a massive hit since joining in January.

"The people we'll be looking at are of the highest calibre, because the players here have done really well since January," said Dalglish.

"It would be disrespectful to them not for us not to be looking at a higher level.

"We've had a great end to the season. There will be lots of work done in the close season and we'll take it from there.

"Although it might affect them, players themselves expect new faces to come in and give the place a lift. It'll happen and they know it'll happen.

"If we get some quality people in to go along with the people already here that will help everyone - it always helps to freshen up the dressing room.

"But if we're bringing anyone in they've got to be better than what we've got - and that's going to be a big ask."

Dalglish has insisted that players on the periphery of the team will stay unless the club receives a suitable offer.

He added: "They are still our players unless someone comes and takes them away from us.

"We've got to assess what we need, and that includes the players who have been out on loan.

"They'll assess where they've been and the other club will assess them.

"Alberto is the highest profile but we've got decisions to make on those players but it may be dictated to be someone else making up their own mind.

"We've not had time to sit down and discuss the players who have been out on loan apart from Alberto."

What's he going to say? "Ah well, we were planning on selling him but since Juventus decided not to buy him, we're a bit stuck with him now because there's no chance he's going to play for us next season"

I think we'll play with Lucas, Adam and Stevie in our first 11 and the only player that is ahead of him in the packing order is Stevie so in case of injuries or suspensions I'd say it is very likely that we'll see Aquilani given a chance to play, if he's still around.

Henderson, everythings points, will be used on right so he won't be direct competition to Aquilani.

The same claim (surplus and won't play) was made last year and if it wasn't for Purslow's stupidity he would've had tons of playing time and probably be the regular before the season finished.

I don't think you can say that he is not part of Kenny's plans as circumstances changed and there is a good possibility that he'll stay.

In terms of Juve's comment, Juve knows we were desperate to sell and I wouldn't be surprised if they would come back few days before the window is shut and throw in a cheeky bid to get him for peanuts.

I only hope we tell them to go and **** themselves.

Adam was always going to come in, also it's not clear what position Henderson has been brought in to play, he could be seen as a right sided player. Also Meireles has been linked with a move away.

Anyway I think that plans will constantly be changing as the squad evolves, I'm sure Kenny has an idea of what he wants to do but it won't be set in stone, there will be players that he hopes/expects to sign that may or may not work out. Similarly there may be players who Kenny plans on getting rid of but they may show something that convinces him that they should stay.

Aquilani for me over Raul any day of the week.

I'd gladly sell him and use the money to finance either a LB or a CB if we are short on funds.

Don't think we would miss him much.

Meireles has been very frustating many times last season and has been the week link in the midfield on many occasions. He had a very good month and a half in January/Feb but them apart, been very average imo.
