    For sure.

Fair enough. All I'm saying is if we get offers for Meireles and Aquilani, we should sell both, recoup some money and offload their wages. I wouldn't keep Aquilani on the back of two halves of pre-season games.

he's a good player but he'd be the one I'd sacrifice if we need to bring funds in to strengthen elsewhere.

Anyway I think that plans will constantly be changing as the squad evolves, I'm sure Kenny has an idea of what he wants to do but it won't be set in stone, there will be players that he hopes/expects to sign that may or may not work out. Similarly there may be players who Kenny plans on getting rid of but they may show something that convinces him that they should stay.
Same here. Adam was in our plans since January and no matter what happened to Aquilani's situation we were going to pursue him.

Hendo, as most Sunderland fans claim, is the best when played on the right side and Kenny could also use him in the similar role.

If Raul is sold, Aquilani could easily make it into the first team if we have injuries, suspensions or the lack of good form.

The Henderson signing is still the most baffling one of the lot, especially for the price.

In fairness, he wasn't given a proper chance to prove himself since he arrived and he did have a very good season at Juve last year and made Italian NT after 2-year absence.

Personally, I would sell Raul and Cole and other deadwood Poulsen etc but I'd keep Aquilani.

He is a different player now being finally healthy and you can sense his confidence is building.

Would love to see what he can do next year for us.

Just to wade back into the Aquilani debate: I think he's going to team up really well with Suarez. You could see how easily he picked out Ngog today, who made some clever runs off the last defender. Suarez does those type of runs all game long. I think Aquilani would be regularly playing in Suarez behind the opposition defence.

I just don't see the purpose of selling him especially now when he's significantly undervalued. If we decide to do that we'll get little to nothing.

Even if you keep him one more year and he doesn't play big minutes I'm unsure he's value will drop much more.

Sure wages seem to be a big stumbling block but if we sell Cole, Poulsen, Jova, Raul I don't see it as a big problem as he could make an impact on the first team if he gets involved.

A lot of people seem to think he was amazing all season based on those 5 games where he scored goals. Take the goals out of the equation and the few assists he got, his contribution in most games was virtually non existent.

The way the two of them pass the ball and move is fantastic and something we have not had in a long time. And this will be the key to unlocking ****e teams who put 10 men behind the ball.

I tweeted earlier on that I am really looking forward to seeing him this coming season. I know it was only against Malaysia truly Asia but he played some beautiful slide rule passes.

He is also extremely comfortable on the ball.

Positive signs in first half from Meireles & surprisingly Cole. Adam balls into Carroll also encouraging but gear needs to be upped by #LFC

Really good point. We need more creativity and Aquilani brings us that. I'm not saying Raul is a bad player, but Aquilani is a class above.

And no, I'm not saying that off a few pre-seaon friendlies

Lot of peeps here chose Aqualini over Raul even before the pre-season started.
