I dont understand the loan but understand wanting to get rid of him

I genuinely dont think hes suited to the Premier League plus the lad doesnt want to be here (apparently)

I'm not sure how we are supposed to sell people if there are no interested buyers. I think people have very unreasonable expectations of what we can do in the market. From the perspective of buyers we are in a very week position - i.e. we have too many players, need to get rid of some and get in some money for new signings. There is no reason for them to come in with big offers. We are still having to work through a backlog from the last owners.

If Kenny doesn't see Aquilani as an option he fancies then keeping him (on big wages) seems a bit counter productive.
My only concern, would be them pulling out of the deal - like Juventus.

We would then be back in the same boat as we are now, unable to sell with a year less on his contract and his value further decreasing.

EDIT: RedReet, Fantasy Football King has already posted something along these lines.

In theory his value should be at it’s peak right now on the back of a relatively successful and injury free season. He could well flop at Fiorentina or pick up another injury and best case scenario is he has another good season, but he’ll be another year closer to 30 with less time on his contract dropping his value even further.

Even if we agree a fee with Fiorentina, we could have the Juve scenario all over again.

My issue is with the idea of loaning him once again.

If we cannot sell him for some reasonable value, I'd keep him.

It is very difficult to determine how well suited he's for PL as he played very little and imo needs more than few games in a row to show his real potential but 2 managers (Hodge doesn't count) not having very much trust in him here doesn't help his cause.

If he dosen't want to stay he should buy out his contract or reduce his wage demands to 20k a week for buying clubs so we can get some offers on the table,or offer to pay some of his required fee himself.

We shouldnt be paying anything for the privilege of the lad getting to play where he wants

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

My phone loves eating tweets. Sorry. Reports Aquilani's going to sign 5-yr deal at Fiorentina 'absolutely wrong'. Loan a possibility. #LFC

Its got **** all to do with trust

Even if he was guaranteed a start he'd still want out

Sometime you have to accept when a player either doesnt settle or wants to be elsewhere

Who is to say he hasnt reduced his wage demands?

The problem appears to be that he wants out, buying clubs know this and as such they are going to screw everything they can get out of any deal

Whether thats a hire purchase option (loan with a view to a buy) or reduced fee etc...

Not sure that I agree. Rafa didn's trust him to play him after he came back from the injury until we lost a chance to play in CL and Hodge, well we all know what happened there.

He wants to play regular football and he wasn't given a proper chance in the past with us to do so and if circumstances are going to be similiar this time around I cannot say that I blame him if he wants to leave.

Is that a fact (source?) or an opinion Lec?

                                Oh ok then

I mean agents always tell the truth and never look to protect the interests of their clients
