Tbh, this is why i can't wait for the window to close and the season start, we all know where we stand, and which players to talk about.

Couldn't believe when I heard last week that there was still 40 f*cking days left.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Being the top assist maker during a couple of months without even being match fit is evidence enough.

He did make all those assists. Nothing about statistics. He made them, it is a fact.

If you make something like one assist a game during the time you get a fair chance then it show that you have no problem playing in the league.

He may not make many tackles or track back a lot but he acted as a fantastic attacking playmaker and was our main creative player.

Maybe the truth lies in between, like someone somewhere doesn't rate him therefore he wants to leave.
Its nothing to do with how I view the player

Its to do with the player

He wanted out last summer and fortunately for him the powers that be wanted him out also

He wants out now and the club dont want to keep an unhappy player

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I think there are two things worth thinking about:
1/ How easy is it to fit an attacking play maker who doesn't tackle into our current midfield options? I don't think we are physical enough at the minute and it would take time to get an all out pressing based defensive system to work - is a rebuilding phase in terms of personnel a good time to try a difficult to master system?

2/ For now lets assume that Aquilani is a really good player, who could bring his A game to the PL: If he is unhappy and wants to leave is he going to perform well and might he not adversely affect morale?

I'd like Aquilani to stay and have a chance but only if he wants to stay and is willing to work for it. I'd also be completely willing to accept that Dalglish & Clarke work with him more closely that I do and might have a better informed opinion of his ability.

He created a few goals yes he did, and I am not to arsed about the tackling expect, what worries me is the amount of time he got caught on the ball, I have seen no evidence whatsover that he can adapt his game to the premiership...... Just becuase he can provide a few assists doesnt mean he has the game to suit the PL.

If he wants to stay and the club want to keep him thats fine (although personally I'd dont think hes suited to our league, system etc...)

But he doesnt want to stay so anything else is kind of irrelevant

I totally agree with getting rid IF HE wants out. We've heard all the bull**** in the world from his manager, "he wants out, he wants to stay" etc etc. If Kenny wants him and he's happy to stay, it's happy days I say.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
