Fiorentina's Sinisa Mihajlovic suggests deal for Liverpool's Alberto Aquilani is still possible
Fiorentina coach Sinisa Mihajlovic claims there is still plenty of time to land Alberto Aquilani from Liverpool this summer.
Despite reports of supposed interest from AC Milan emerging on Saturday, the coach believes he can land the former Juventus loanee.
Aquilani, 27, is surplus to requirements at the English side and initially appeared to be on his way to Fiorentina, but the deal went cold over his willingness to join permanently whereas the club were only offering a loan deal.
The player's agent Franco Zavaglia said the route towards the Artemio Franchi was open on Friday and cited his client's desire to join Fiorentina on a long-term basis.
And Mihajlovic has said something could still happen between now and the end of the transfer window in August.
"Aquilani deal up in smoke? From now until the end of the market there is still plenty of time, let's not lose hope," Mihajlovic told La Repubblica.
"The club, myself, and director of sport Pantaleo Corvino have clear ideas and we know exactly what to do."

How is there not a list of clubs out there prepared to bid real money for Aquilani?
It seems public knowledge that he's available, he has obvious quality, hasn't been given a fair run at Liverpool and was excellent last season at Juve, yet nobody seems prepared to buy him. Whilst We've been battling to buy the likes of Henderson and Downing for almost £40m, nobody wants to spend £15m on Aquilani. Madness.

probably because they know if they hang onto the end of the transfer window they can probably get a good deal on him, if we're keen on letting him go and getting him off the clubs wages we'll no doubt either let him go on loan again or take a low fee for him.
It's a waiting game as he seemingly wants to go and we want to get rid of him hence no rush to pick him up.
