What I'd like to know is what sort of retarded agreement did we come to last time where a fee is agreed at the end of his loaning but they can choose not to sign him. Why loan him last time knowing they could **** us over and not pay the price and then loan him a second time forcing them to pay. If a club agrees to a forced purchase after loan then why not just pay the 6m euros now.
This really is a pathetic saga and that fee is a complete insult. It's rare that I agree with Arn but he shouldn't leave for that amount of money, this isn't our fault it's the fault of all these Italian clubs that want to piss around instead of agreeing a suitable fee which is something he should be more offended by than the way we have behaved.

The sort of agreement that is a loan with an option to buy.
How we let them do this without paying a loan fee (in the region of 1-2mil) is the real question.

You dont have to issue a formal transfer request to do that
A formal transfer request is an acrimonious expression of disatisfaction
IE if the club wanted to make it public that Aquilani wants out or Aquilani wanted to make it public he wants out
It appears the club have sat down and resolved their issues amicably and come to some agreement (I'd imagine its in writing)
I must say I've been quite impressed with the manner Aquilani has gone about things so far, maybe that will change if frustration sets it
I understand that Lec, but what I'm saying is that any agreement the club have came to with Alberto as regards relinquishing entitlements is probably to all intends and purposes no more than a gentleman's agreement. I doubt there's any formal agreement in place, at least until his severance is worked out when a transfer is being handled.
A transfer request negates any such agreements from the players side, so he has no come back if he did try to get his cash.....not saying that Aquilani is that way inclined as he just clearly wants out, but from a legal and footballing body rule, the transfer request still has it's place and function.
Bottom line is we're all on the outside looking in on this one and there's far too many assumptions being made in this thread I think.
