Considering so much money is involved these days it does seem strange to start a new season so under prepared. Not just us, in fact signing wise we're got them in relatively quickly, but there seem so few friendlies to actually tune your team so come the big kick off they're all ready. Formula one is similar, takes halfway into season for some teams to find their feet.
The likes of Utd are ok as they keep winning things, but for us to better them we surely need to put more effort in during the close season than them. Come sunderland it'll be a case of hoping they click and banking on them being decent players and rising to the challenge.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. What does annoy me is, well maybe not annoy but makes me wonder, is if we were offered this game so late, and it was for a fee or whatever, then if we had'nt planned a game...then our plan did'nt need one, so why alter our plans just for a few quid, or to do a favour.Comment
